When we signed Terry Cooper & IMHO he was still good enough to play for England, his performances certainly proved that, but playing for Boro seen to it he didnt add any caps to his name

1967 Willie Maddren was offered trials for Leeds United but leading up to his trial period at Elland road he suffered a bad injury playing local football which meant he could make the trial, not long after Boro became aware of the late, great Willie Maddren who, once fit, was invited to Ayresome Park & the rest as they say is history
