If you want to go to Aberdeen or Amsterdam

 :rudi:

Or Turkey, Alicante, Mallorca, Portugal, Channel Islands, Iceland or Lapland at Christmas, but yes, you can also fly to Aberdeen and Amsterdam.
We went to Corfu from Teesside. Great service.
how much a year of my taxes should be given to it each year?

tunstall

You can get anywhere from Amsterdam

It's a great airport and handy as fuck

I had a Ford Escort in the 70's a great car. Should they still be building them? I know a penny farthing factory.

We use Teesside through Amsterdam whenever we can plan a decent timetable.

If you still had it it'd be worth loads more than you paid for it.

Heathrow just made profit for the first time in years too. Should they close it now?

you are equating Heathrow with MME?

Heathrow Airport Holdings Limited is in turn owned by FGP Topco Limited, a consortium owed and led by the infrastructure specialist Ferrovial S.A. (25.00%), Qatar Investment Authority (20.00%), Caisse de depot et placement de Quebec (CDPQ) (12.62%), GIC (11.20%), Alinda Capital Partners of the United States (11.18%), ...

139,000 passenger  a day

Tees Valley Combined Authority owns three-quarters of the airport and Teesside Airport Foundation owns the remainder.

225,000 passengers a year.

Er, no I'm not.

Leeds Bradford just returned to profit too, similarly at Newcastle.

The point is that airports generally have had a bad time since 2019 and are generally now turning it around. This applies whether large or small.
You just want to slag off Ben Houchen, that's fine but he's not the reason your council wants more money from you.

I have never slagged him off personally. I don't know him or the people he gave Teesport to. I don't know them.

I certainly disagree with my taxes been used to subside public land sales , without tender. I would have thought Tories would be to. In another thread a lad is moaning about public money being used for a bridge.

Do you know why you can't go to Woolworths? It's because not enough people used it.

Do you think we should open the pits again?

It's a good asset for business to come to the region.

if it becomes a hub for Logistics I will agree with you.
The Fed Ex deal is a good one.

Teesside would have been a perfect location for the Airlander (airship) production.
  Instead they chose Doncaster .

Quote from: Blott on August 14, 2024, 02:34:39 PMIt was a big burger stall.  Just checked my failed business revenue was about 50 pc of the airport and rising quickly.

I used MME a lot, Amsterdam and London. I don't have to now, if I did Leeds and Newcastle are 1 hour away, hardly a disaster.

If something is finished it's finished.

For Tories you love giving away my taxes

Teesside International Airport has drawn down more than £60m in loans out of a £88m taxpayer pot in its first four years.

Oh, hang on,I have to pay £40 a year for my garden rubbish to be cleared, Labour eh.

No you dont - get the lazy fucking socialist gardener to do it like me

Why did your mega business go broke again?

I was a shite business man.  No one to blame but me. I never listened to myself or advice o was given.

It's called Bad Debts and overtrading.

How many people have you ever employed? How much have you invested in a business? Have you ever taken a risk, apart from Ladbrokes? How much tax have you contributed to the state. I worked out including VAT mine was in excess of £4m.

Ural Quntz

How long have you got?

Done more than you daf cun

But then accountancy clearly wasn't your string point!

The only regret I have is what I put my family through it was indefensible.

Not everything was bad, the last year definitely was.

I rather suspect there are quite a few of us on here that have run businesses successfully for many years.
