Without trying to sound all pedantic when it comes to cup games it's about getting through to the next round for me. Likewise in a cup final get the win over anything else.

League games are when you might ask for this and that in a performance however even then the result still overrides any outstanding or shit performance.

I think we've struggled this season, mainly due to the recruitment of raw players, Carrick was hoping theyd hit the ground running but they didnt, which put pressure on a defence that wasnt the best last season, due to our superior forwards scoring goals to take the pressure of goals conceded

Although we have played well in parts leading up to Sheff Weds game we were still looking vunerable & at times relegation certainties, but the Southampton game chhanged my outlook, even with the way Carrick altered the system a bit & we went direct, down the channels, if wed came out the Saints game level I would have still been buzzing

Last night we looked sharp, our passing was class, yes its a 2nd divsion team, but they were at home, on the back of a cracking away win & it was a cuptie, which sort of brings teams level, not yesterday, we looked so superior, you can only beat whats infront of you & I thought, listening to the radio & watching the highlights that Mike posted, we were top class & that is what Carrick tells us he sees regularly in training

the police were brilliant with the buses. Blue lights in and out. I think they went as far as Harrogate.
