That's bad shit like, one wild dog is bad enough never mind three.

Do you punish all dogs and their owners with your rule because of the odd idiot though?

I will say the are some big and nasty dogs out there most are ok, but some are in the wrong hands which is the root cause of the problem

I AGREE WITH YER COMMENTS... BUT I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD ALL BE KEPT ON A LEAD 👍👍👍

A FORMER POLICE OFFICER ON TALK TV SAID DOG ATTACKS WENT UP FROM 16 THOUSAND TO 22 THOUSAND IN ONE YEAR 👎👎👎

AND THEY SHOULD BE A LIMIT OF ONLY WALKING 2 DOGS PER PERSON 😔

Good & sensible post, also agree with Lids here, leads are a must, just so as long as the owner is in control & the general public can be as safe as possible, that poor woman will be scarred for life, boh physically & mentally

That bloke should be fined for the simple reason he couldnt keep his dogs under control

Ebenezer Good

Of course all dogs should be on leads when being walked it's common sense' a lot of the big breeds should be muzzled really but then this leave them defenceless to attack themselves.

It's a tricky one for me and as I'm a dog owner and a sensible one, I do believe a dog should be entitled to run free off the lead, it's natural for them. If they bite someone they get put down with no ifs or buts. (it's no different to some idiot sparking you in a pub for no reason)

Now I get your comments, but if that rule was applied I would go as far to say, then just ban dogs in the Uk full stop, rather than take the chance off them, to enjoy freedom off the lead.

I don't think the above will ever come into play, but one day I can see your idea of leads only maybe coming in play

I was out with my young son having a bike ride on the cycle paths near me last weekend.

A couple had two big nasty looking dogs roaming about and one started trotting towards my son. I got in front of him and the owners shouted out that they were just being friendly.

How does a 5 year old boy know that dogs nearly the same height as him are being friendly. I looked at the owners and they knew what I was saying without saying anything and they put them on their leads.

My wife has also had a dog jump up at her when out running and had an argument with the owners who said she shouldn't be running along a path where dog walkers go.

I'm finding more and more that dog owners think they can do what they like, spread across cycle paths, not controlling their dogs and i don't just mean attacking but running across cyclists etc

For me if you're going to let your dog off the lead it should have a muzzle, end of and be in a big field, not where a lot of the general public are walking/exercising.

Good shout on the muzzle I can buy into that. Off the lead then a muzzle must be on. Otherwise, lead only.

YES THAT'S A GOOD IDEA TOO... 90% OF DOGS ARE HARMLESS... IT'S THE 10% I WORRY ABOUT...

Muzzle all the time for me, even on a lead. Some of the owners can't hold on to the powerful type dogs. A bite from a "friendly little mongrel" can be bad enough.

Ebenezer Good

A couple of years ago a woman I know from brotton was walking her dogs on Saltburn beach (small lap dog type) when 2 great Danes ran up and killed the mother dog and 3 out of 4 of her pups. This is the main reason we no longer take our dogs down there any more which is a pity as its only a mile away. Too many irresponsible people letting their "he wouldn't harm a fly" dogs run loose.

For me Lidds, they need to start charging the owners when the dogs attack. Start charging people with manslaughter/GBH when dogs attack and the attacks will soon go down. Don't tar all owners with the same brush.

Sadly dog's are like children . . . Any f***ing idiot can have them.
Why must I feel like that . . . Why must I chase the 🐈

It's the owners of those dogs that should be muzzled and on a lead. Clowns trying to be something they are not.

TerryCochranesSocks

Can't agree that all dogs should be on a lead or muzzled.
Those three dogs were patently not Staffies or "normal" bull terrier types, they were way too big.
They've got to police the Dangerous Dogs act properly.

I am a responsible dog owner who's dog is well behaved. He's a Cocker Spaniel who needs exercise. Why should I keep him on a lead because a minority of owners are irresponsible.
This post could almost have come from OTR with it's drastic overreaction.

Totally agree with that nice to see people talking sense here.

Next week the shitrags will be back to something else, probably Carcharodon carcharias spotted off Cornwall.

There's no debate in this matter, it's all down to arsehole's owning dog's that shouldn't.

Of course it's terrible and very tragic when a person loses their life through a dog attack.

But like mentioned before it shouldn't be happening.

It's the f***ing idiot owner that should be put down, not the Dog that he's 'Trained' to be like that. The stupid c**t.

Listen the dog's you need to watch out for are those rascalist one's

I was out the other Day with My French and Italian Pals . . . This Jack Russell called em 'A pair of surrendering c***s'

There's just no need for it

As it goes a good friend of mine who I first me, through Dog rescue, was actually staff at Battersea dog's home, lived at the Windsor branch.

When Me and Mrs D went
(Met people from various rescue etc) we knew a girl, say from FB that was a volunteer.
It was one of the most upsetting things I'd ever seen when we went . . .
Year's previously I'd actually gone to the place when I lived in London on My scooter.
We went for a Booze over the road and I meet this Lad.
What a guy it's things like that that dawn on you about possessions, happiness that put thing's into perspective.

I've worked all over, with the biggest slinks you'll ever meet. F**k all the big house's and flash car's, it's irrelevant.

To this day I've never met a man so humble and so proud.

Puts life into perspective.

Oh and by the way He said all these 'Famous' people have dog's hand picked , thought O'Grady was a c**t, when he met Him.

Probably the only person I've ever met that really loved a job he done.

Was I envous , what do you think?

Don't have heroes
But I've met one

Worked with people that couldn't hold a candle to you
Amen

This is what i was on about, it could have been a small child. I'm guessing the dog "wouldn't hurt a fly"
