Quote from: Blott on June 04, 2023, 08:39:45 PMOur run was from Eston to Normanby, but I knew the Ormesby lads the most.

In the 20/30 years I went out around there I only ever saw bother twice, both in The Normanby.

I am trying to think of the bouncer in The George/ Bowlers

All the Hoe Brothers have a stint on that door over the years. Before them there was an older geezer tough as old boots. Cant get his name.
Rich will know it.

I'M SURE JIMMY JOYCE WAS ON THERE 🤔
GET WELL SOON STEVE G

BoroRedKen

The Talbot used to be a popular barearse boxing pub on a Saturday night.

I am not saying I did not see the odd punch thrown, normally between Eston and South Bank, but for chaos it was the Normanby.

Blott

As for Duffy, I never knew him, saw him, had him pointed out to me.

Apart from Bennett's I never went to South Bank

Blott

That's him Jimmy Joice, a very underrated lunatic.

Smoggers51

The Normanby in the early 70's was always good for bother on a Friday and Saturday and then the lads would then visit the Sporting Club in South Bank( some hard lads on the door there).

There was a couple of "Hodgy" lads kicking about at that time. I am remembering 1 that was a bit tasty.

I'm not from that neck of the woods, the lad in question is dead now like but at the time was only small, but stocky with it and had a bald head. A pleasant bloke, but could obviously do a bit ith him working the doors
