Have you watched the BBC documentary Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland.

Basically people sat in chairs alone, all one way or another were impacted.

I tried to look at it dispassionately, but one or two of them I would not p on. As a Catholic you would expect me to say from the Loyalist side, but it was the opposite. There is a woman who is married to a IRA bloke, she despised what he did to her and the kids, she had been  a bit of a stunner still looking good.

I am not getting into a political debate but try and watch it.

Even by the BBC's own self-loathing standards it was even more pro-nationalist than even I expected to see.

They had a supposed protestant woman referring to Londonderry as "Derry". Some so-called loyalist - or should that be former loyalist trying to repent former views. Whilst misleading, one-sided footage was used to try and justify peace loving catholics into hating us "Brits".

In short it was UTTER BULLSHIT!

God Bless loyal Ulster. Up the U!

and that my friends is why wars continue.

My dad and his three brothers, all Catholics were on French Beaches on Day, where was your grandad?

I am a Catholic, do you despise me because of the shoes I wear?

You will never find any thread anywhere where I have given a sectarian view.

BoroRedKen

Why is sectarianism (?) not the same as racism?

BoroRedKen

I admit my knowledge of both Irelands is next to nothing.

But if i have a pop at a Muslim about being a Muslim i would be nicked.

one of the things I do know about is Ireland but mainly the North from about 1900.

It was sad then, a bit less sad today.

I will never understand whilst I have a hole in my arse why anyone should like or dislike me because I go to church.

But each to their own.

I do enjoy the Rangers / Celtic crap.

BoroRedKen

Kind of my thoughts tbh.

was is simplistic about my views? The fact I have made to effort to understand the history of NI? Or because I am Catholic?

My dad never mentioned being disappointed in me, or my brother's as it happens, I will never find out. How you know I don't know? Did you chat to him in the North Ormesby Workies?

You seem to have a bitterness in your tummy, I suggest a few Rennie's.

out of interest do you think you are more English than me?

Your comment about my dad being disappointed about me I assume is my opinion on immigration. He was for it, and to paraphrase you, it's why he was on the beaches.

Redrum

Im all for immigration that makes this country a better place to live as 99.9% of the population are aswell. In your tiny mind you reckon every immigrant works for the NHS or picks fruit down south; get a fucking grip. As for your comment about me being more English, grow the fuck up :winston:

BoroRedKen

Hang on lads im lost!

Is this about sectarianism, Racism, Religion or Tummy Troubles??.......

If it is here are my views in order.

I know nowt about Ireland. I am not allowed to comment on racism. Religion and wars and all that. And Bisodol for the last.

thanks for telling me what I think, it's appreciated.

We accepted 608000 legal immigrants last year, according to the Home Office they are either working or students. I accept you don't want them here, that is an acceptable position to hold. I happen to disagree with it.

Here is another fact from the Home Office.

Foreign citizens make up 9% of the general population and 12% of the prison population in England and Wales.

That estimate can be set alongside the headcount of prisoners in English and Welsh jails, which records just under 10,000 foreign national prisoners as of June 2016.

The number and proportion of foreign prisoners is falling: there were over 11,000 foreign prisoners in 2010.

Did you notice I never mentioned the word catholic ONCE, you presumptuous prick!

And just for the record; My paternal grandfather who as a 17 year-old was sent over to France as a medical assistant during WW1 but was thankfully kept well back from the front lines, whereas my maternal grandfather served in the navy as a volunteer during WW2 which included being on board on one of the D-Day support ships (HMS Sparrowhawk).
I hope that satisfies your curiosity.
