Carrick won't leave unless it was for a big club in the north west. He still has a lot to prove, and from the way he came across in interviews, he is defo planning for next season here.

He is a knocking bet to be Man Utd manager soon enough (2 seasons?).

If they come sniffing i dont think we would stand much chance in keeping him (remember he did 4 games as interim head coach).

A job like that, would mean he has been brilliant for us, though sad to lose him under those circumstances, you could only wish him well for the future
