I wish him well, no issue with him leaving if it's to play in the prem or possible CL with Ajax. I think Ajax would be a great move for him, similar standard to the chumps overall. I have no doubt he would have loved to have stayed here but its a gamble for him if he is wanting that bigger contract and the opportunity to play a higher level. Let us be thankful he is going to bring a few bob to the club, coz just over a year ago he was training on his own away from the first team.

Why must we conflate Gibbos personal wealth with the clubs finances?

Have we all forgot that Gibbo was already a successful businessman in 1986. Nearly 37 years ago!
He has run the same business since so of course he has amassed a fair few quid.

Should he live in a tent in Albert Park so we can pay players 150k a week? Buy a striker for 40 million?

Or should he not enjoy the trappings his business has given him?

The issue is a series of poorly scouted players and panic loans.

Hopefully we are trying a different model of recruitment and scouting.

I had not heard of Engell. Had heard of Lumley, Saville, Connolly etc. And we know how they turned out.

I've heard its all (Gibson's new Abode) getting kitted out as a private dwelling the full kit and caboodle and then at the flick of a switch it will become a 'social/luxury hall for guests/tenants and have a section of living quarters for himself and his family. As John Hall had at Wynard - it's all modeled to some degree on that. A tax type fiddle the lot, but all above board in the same breath.

It's easier to get the building regs etc, that way. A bit of an exclusive for you all. Unless someones pissing up my back,
