Surely Starmer is running out of countries to visit gonna have to come "home" soon.....

Foobanks! Feeding kids at school! Brushing kids teeth at school! Cost of living crisis! Homelessness! Etc etc etc.

But Lets give more money away to foreign countries to stop migrants at "source"!. What happened to "smashing gangs"?...

I would but FaceTime would expand my carbon foot print. I had so much to say too

ZiEgE

They all know climate change is a load of bollocks.

Climate change is for dumb cunts like Smalltown. Certainly not the bourgeoisie in their private jets.

Doyle1979

@ZiEgE climate change is not even open for discussion. Whether you believe it's man made or a natural cycle then you can debate that. You have to have left planet earth your whole life to not see it with your own eyes. It hit 40 degrees in boro 2 years ago.

It's like denying words exist

Of course climate change is real, the climate has constantly changed. There has never been a time in 4.5 billion years where the climate hasn't been in a state of change.

That's why they stopped calling it global warming.

But this idea that it's not the giant thermonuclear reaction in the sky which provides 99.99999% of all the energy on earth that causes it but rather a gas that constitutes 0.4% of our atmosphere is fucking laughable.

Worse still, they'd have you believe it's the human creation of this gas which constitutes less than 0.012% of the atmosphere and the only way to fix it is to pay more taxes.

Of course CO2 isn't a problem when they're blowing up pipelines between Russia and Europe...it's when you and me get access to cheap gas - that's the problem.

It's fucking bullshit and anyone with an IQ above room temperature and even 2 brain cells capable of critical thinking can see that.

Here's a simple fact the IPCC can't answer, if CO2 makes the earth hotter, why between 2003 and 2019 did the rate the earth warmed slow significantly (it practically stopped) when the amount of CO2 production increased more then 20 fold?

Here's another question, why in response to that data did they move most temperature measuring stations to airport runways?

And a final question, which even if you believe the bullshit must wake you up. Why is carbon produced in India and China fine but in Europe and America evil?
Why can China open 25 new coal powered power plants when we have to shut ours  down despite us sitting on vast coal reserves?

Oh and as for Boro hitting 40c

In 1976, there was 4 weeks where the daily temperature was above 32c, I think the highs were around 36c.

It's called weather. It happens.

My IQ is 141 true story. Was in junior Mensa which requires minimum 140.

You're not talking about climate change you're on a rant about why you think climate change politics is BS.

You are doing what you have done on numerous threads I've been on and just gone on a rant about something I've not questioned. I told you man made climate change is open to debate. Have a look back.

Why are you asking me questions in some plastic paxman way?

Calm down. I told you it's scientific fact that the climate is changing. That's not open for debate. I told you you can debate whether it's man made or just a natural cycle.

My IQ was room temperature I just had the idea to turn the heating up to 141.

Doyle1979

@ZiEgE snd climate change and global warming are not the same thing. One affects the other. Both terms are still used as they refer to separate patterns.

That's a sustained period not a single day of unnatural heat that broke all Records. Also weather and climate are two separate things also.

Doyle1979

@ZiEgE I'll give you a hand and actually explain what is likely at play. The west is no longer capable of challenging the Chinese, Indians, Brazilians etc in the manufacturing game and in order to grow an economy a strangle hold on an industry is vital. The green industry is the wests only way to take control of a major global industry again as we can't compete in the old manufacturing industry. It's the wests invented industry that is now embraced by all global companies and our route to financial power to keep the Chinese in check. Without the green industry they win.

I'm available to help any of your rants mate

Doyle1979

We probably don't need half the green policies but we also don't need half the £3 t-shirts from a Vietnam sweat shop

Doyle1979

I'm not sure if you're old enough to remember but in the early 90's we had to take all CFC gasses out of aerosols (deodorant, hairspray etc) as it was creating a hole in the ozone layer.

Some scientists have pondered that the hole in the ozone layer during this period was largely down to Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Def Leopard. I'm on the fence.

Doyle1979

@ZiEgE id happily discuss things with you but you don't seem to be rational. Intelligence is to understand and accept that you don't know enough. It's why you listen and ask not rant like you're the holder of the truth and full information. That's what stupid ppl do.

They will be a next ice age that's inevitable, oil is running out it's finite, there was a hole in the ozone layer very little ozone in Australia, climate change is scientifically correct, there was a Cold War it actually happened. Other than that you nailed it.

Remember though that "scientific fact" evolves and is rarely settled.

There is no argument at any level that climate changes, it always has and (I hope) always will. The issue, as you rightly point out, is whether we believe that it is man-made and if so, to what degree.
It is important therefore to consider that the basis for establishing increases or decreases in temperatures depends on their measurement and also therefore on the way that those measurements are made.
There have been fairly recent changes in the equipment, procedures, timings and locations of temperature measurement protocol which have undoubtedly been designed to add credence to the "global warming" argument.

My concern comes from this; if there are scientists who are trying to ensure that recorded temperatures show increases, then they have moved from simply recording stats to creating stats. That is no longer science, it's politics.

Doyle1979

@TerryCochranesSocks climate change is fact we have billions of years of evidence. You're correct that science is often based on theories not fact. That's why science should always be challenged as we often gain new insights and theories that disprove those that had been widely withheld as the most likely option.

Climate change isn't just about temperature increases it's about the erratic weather patterns that start to occur that are often catastrophic

Yes, I did say there was "no argument at any level that climate changes".
I agree that there has been a recent shift towards highlighting "erratic weather patterns" in the narrative, whether the statements about these events are valid or not is open to debate, but it is fair to make the points on the temperature increases as this has been the focus of the climate lobby for decades.

Why are you taking my verbal assaults on the climate change clowns as attacks on you?

It sounds to me as though we're in agreement with each other.

Climate is changing, it always has and it always will. And human impact on that is debatable at best.

That's the common sense position.

So why the need for green taxes?

Why are we putting vulnerable pensioners into fuel poverty to support climate policies which achieve nothing?

Why must we have the most expensive energy in the world?

These, as the previous ones were, are rhetorical questions.

None of it makes the slightest bit of sense until you understand it's got absolutely nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with the marxist ideology of the WEF and its disciples.

Not sure if you've read any of Karl Marx work but he wrote about capitalism being the root cause of the earths destruction. This is basically true.

Any views he had on climate change are not really relevant today as his theories were based on then not now.

Read his work as there's seems to be this fashion for calling things Marxist by people who've never even read any of his work. Most ppl that's use the term have no idea what it actually means.

ZiEgE

I read Das Kapital when I was about 15, or at least the first 3 books.

I only remember it being a horrible read, really hard work and a very 19th century view of the world.

Marxist ideology is what leads to communism, this idea that you can artificially level out human outputs and consumption.

It's a grotesque and obscene ideology because the only way you can get close to achieving its goals is to mass murder tens of millions of people.

Then you ought to read his other works too as Marxism is nothing to do with a goal of mass murder ffs. It's mostly about class struggle and the mental evolvement of the worker from the work.

Das Kapital is just 3 of his works. Communism existed before Marx. I don't agree with many of his theories as I don't with many other social sciences written over a century ago but I do agree with some.

It's also very easy to argue that capitalism is grotesque and obscene and has been responsible for the deaths of millions.
