Whats it "feel" like being a GD? Whats it like seeing them running around etc?

My 2nd eldest grandchild is severly disabled and it breaks me in pieces not being in his life.
When i see pics of him i just crumple.

Could not even tell you the names of 4 of them.

My GPs will not make appts if you cant through at 8 am.

Wednesday i started ringing at 8.

8.35 got through. No appts left. Told i need help.

"Ring back tomorrow from 8" "Ring 111".....

Wheres these new appointments? How about getting Drs to work in practices instead of having practice "meetings" and fucking off to do private graft all the time?
Seen 7 different "locums" in 12 months.
All they know is whats on tje screen. To them we are just a NHS number on a fucking computer screen.

I've been referred to a GP call in centre that's open late near linthorpe road. If you tell them it's been impacting you for a while there's appointments they can supply. It's the Doyle's ringing up with a runny nose that are clogging it up

@BoroRedKen i know the one you mean our mam was in there for physio years back. It's not ideal having to go there but glad you got to see someone. There's online ones now too. You have to pay but it's not a fortune and saves you the bus costs and the chew on

But i didnt. It had to be in 30 mins. I wasnt even dressed. We are waiting for Uber to flood up here cos taxis are useless. To go to Redcar from here? 14 quid!

The night i had to take JackCat to an emergency vets (my vets is in Saltburn) it cost me 70 quid for taxi plus the 350 quid vet fee.
And JackCat did not come home.

That night i had 380 in my bank. It meant i owed 40 quid. The fuckers sent bailiffs after me for it.

Dont think ill see them bailiffs again.
If only i could remember the names of the 2 posters OTR who were laughing and bragging about private vet fees???.......

I'm sorry you are going through all of this Kenny. First Carmen, the law issue and not seeing the grandbairns.

I don't want to pry and poke and I realise all family situations are different, but life is too short. Can't you go apologise, make amends, even if you have nothing to apologise or make amends for? Be the bigger man possibly?

I consider my honesty as a weakness but i have to be honest i cant change so i never consider anything prying. I will answer anything (except anything about my daughter unless i offer comments).

Too much water and all that.

A single comment. Thats all it was. After my eldest moving out of our house for the 3rd time without telling us i said to him "thats it you cannot live here ever again it aint my house".

The middle son steamed round to say his piece and did not like seeing Dad lose his rag.

So by the time they got "home" i had said "thats it you can never come here again".

These were not kids btw. 18 and 20 at the time.

I see them now and then but there is not even a head nod.

I love them though. That has never changed.

And i know deep down if they ever really needed me i would be there sort it out or give the help needed then go back to my own life.

When Carmen died i needed a big brother. I needed my boys to watch their dad.
I got neither.

Posting on here under my money but not seeing or giving a fuck his brother trying to reach out to him.

sorry I replied to you earlier but sometimes I find they don't post?

Anyway that's a failure of the system and no one should have to put up with that.

They underfunded it for over a decade to make us all frustrated at it and therefore push privatisation on us as the solution.

I had to pay £2.50 each time I took my mam for chaemo due to them rats privatising the car parks for their mates and and every single day she was in there for months when she was ill. I eventually got a blue badge I could use in her behalf but I'll never forget

The hardest hospital doings for me was when Carmen was in a coma.

I had to phone in the morning and "book" a visiting time. Then it was 2 buses there (1hr and20 mins with hanging about times) to sit by her bed for 1 hour then had to leave to repeat thr bus home.
3 weeks of that i became a robot.

Everyday for 4 months (all bar 5 days where i was too ill to go myself) i visited that hospital. In that 5 months not 1 single other person visited Carmen.

Work, kids, too busy, other plans.

Yet when she died the number of "ohh how we are going to miss her" still make me feel physically sick now.
