This phone i use is Carmens old 1. It is smashed and prone to having a meltdown lately.

I have another phone that was only 4 months old when the cops took it.

Since i got it back i have not even charged it let alone switch it on.

About 3 weeks before i was nicked Carmen felt a bit better and wanted a few days away from home and the hospital. So we went.
On that phone are just pics and videos of Carmen them few days away. The last vids of pics of her smiling and laughing and enjoying herself.

I really believe now that Carmen knew her time was going to be short and that trip was to give me memories.

How do i clear that phone without stopping myself watching the vids and looking at pictures?
I want them to be happy memories. But they are not. It was the last time we laughed and joked. 2 days after we came home Carmen went into a coma.

I know it sounds daft and trivial but its really hurting boys.

Should i just man up? Should i get someone to wipe it for me? Will i regret not having the pics etc in the future?. Should i just save and buy a new phone and put that phone away until im ready?.

Why the fucking pain still?.

Help me with lads with advice or thoughts. I need it. 😥👍

Cant afford a dog just now. Got to take into account feeding and vets etc and it just cant be done.
A dog desrves better than that.

I don't know if they do it round here but you can adopt a dog for Christmas from the shelters, might be a start see how you get on.

Took one of my dogs to the vets yesterday. £120 for a months medication. Looked online and its a quarter of the cost.

Put the phone away for another day.

You may regret starting it up now, but you may also regret binning it.

One day, you will turn it on and smile at the memories.

As others have said don't delete, Ken. What isn't right for you today will certainly be right for another day. Delete them and they will be gone. And your regrets will run far deeper knowing they can't be accessed.

Trust me on this Ken- please don't delete.

I know you understand me 100% on this Nosmo. I listen to you.

Im just tired of hurting. Im really struggling to keep this "mask"on.
But hey! Tomorrow is another day! 👍👍

Nosmo-King

Ken, I get it. But memories are there to be cherished. Not every day but when you are in the right frame of mind. You would be more upset if you deleted them.

And as you say I have experience in this area. So please don't go ahead with your current thoughts.

Get the videos and pictures taken off and put onto another device or store them in the cloud.. basically keep them safe but just stored away until your ready or feel like your in a better place.

Clem Fandango

Don't delete them. But also save them in as many places as you can.

Electronic equipment, phones etc all fail eventually - don't think that phone will work for ever.  We lost a bunch of photos and videos of our kids when our Flip camera failed and we hadn't downloaded them.

If you don't have other computers, the cloud etc email them as attachments to yourself in your email account. Even just attaching them to draft emails if they are too big to send will leave them somewhere additional you can get to them in the future (assuming your email isn't set to automatically delete old stuff).

John Trebor

As other have said, don't delete them. Save them for the future on a memory card or whatever.
If the phone was linked to a Google account the pics will probably have already automatically saved to Google Photos. Available to view on any device when/if you are ready.
