Another boring, boring, boring snooze fest international break following this fixture

Wow, life as a Boro fan, from the Coventry debacle to the QPR 4-1 win, only untypical Boro can do that

Some shaky moments in our win on Tuesday night. The game could have finished 7-3 with both keepers making good saves & with that great win we stopped another team from recording their first of the season, with QPR who were, & still are, winless at Loftus road this season

Well done Boro & well done Dan Barlasar scoring his first Boro goal & a beauty it was, he may have got lucky with his one/two off a QPR defender but the curl, finish was awesome

Next up are Luton Town, probably their most famous fan is the legendary comedian Eric Morcombe,
have struggled since coming down from the PL last season & after beating Cardiff in midweek sit in 19th place on 15 points, come to the Riverside looking for their first away win of the season

After our hard work on Tuesday lets not let the fans down again, we have to start showing consistency at home if we want to seriously consider ourselves as promotion challengers, record only our second back to back wins of the season & go into the boring, boring, boring international break on a high

Boro now sit in 8th place on the verges of the playoffs on 21 points a good win on Saturday will see us as high as 4th, putting pressure on the teams around us who kickoff later

As it stands, Over a 12 Championship game span, 6 home & away games, we are the form away team in the Championship but second bottom form home team

We've never scored more than two goals past Luton at home games
Luton were our final league opponents at Ayresome Park Boro winning 2-1
30/4/1995 - Neil Cox took the last awarded penalty at Ayresome Park v Luton with the score 0-0 & the keeper saved his spot kick

The 1st home match between both team took place on the 21st October 1899, in a
2nd division fixture, the game finished 0-0

Boro v Luton will be the 18th fixture on Teesside between us both with the following record

Won - 8
Drew - 4
Lost -5
For - 18
Against -18

A number of  players have represented Boro & Luton, a few listed below

Bruce Rioch
Colin Todd
John O'Rourke
Billy Pease
Phil Boersma
Chris Kamara
Ben Roberts
Andy Dibble
Marlon Beresford
Thomas Craddock
Martin Cranie
Jacob Butterfield
Robert Gray

Chris Kamara who went onto make 5 appearances  is the only player we have loaned from Luton Town

Debuts/last game v Luton

21/10/1899 - Luke Raisbeck debut 0-0
20/9/1961 - Derek McLean final appearance
24/2/1900 - Tom Linton debut  1-1
27/3/1972 - Don Burluraux debut 2-1
3/11/1973 - Tony McAndrew  debut 2-1

In With the Lurpak

Should be a round of applause for Tommy Robinson during this game to highlight the injustice of his imprisonment .

Middlesbrough 3 - 2 Luton Town

Our stats show that Bud, we have to overcome that with a good win, a big win at that which will be a massive boost to the players

West Brom & Burnley drew 0-0 tonight, noone is running away in this league.
We've lost 5 games & winning on saturday will draw us level with Burnley

Crazy league

Remember when we beat Derby back in 1997 at their place to reach our first FACSF. Alan Hansen said on MOTD, you just never know which Boro are going to turn up, they're either top 4, or bottom 4, he was right then & it applies to todays Boro

I can see Ayling playing there with McGree keeping an eye on things, I know McGree does anyway but maybe more more so on saturday

All logic being applied we should win - but this is the Boro. Love a win but can see a draw. 2-2

Well saturdays here & with Watford winning last night, West Brom v Burnley drawing on thursday & depending how Millwall get on at Stoke in another half 12 KO then a Boro win can see us in 6th place & level on points with Burnley, thats not bad considering we've put in some awful performance & results yet could still be in 6th place

We really need to get todays result over the line, the top 6 is not worrying at all, our only concern is ourselves, we'll continue to dominate & score away from home but struggle & underperform at home, put the latter right & we're guaranteed a playoff spot, IMHO mind
Fail to address it & we'll continue to sit on the fringes looking in

C'mon Boro!

Does Howson remain in the team?
At 36, he's almost played 2 full games on the bounce after such a long spell out that Carrick may recall Hackney to play alongside Morris, or give Barlasar a start who can pick out a pass against a Luton team who will pack their defence/midfield looking to frustrate us, I would go with Barlasar myself

Francks left peg

@erimus74 do you have to keep depressing me reminding me about the upcoming international break 😭😂

Sorry Franks, I know it is depressing isnt it!
This is the 3rd month in a row we've had these awful breaks

I would think not many fans outside the odd few would be happy we have this in our modern game, fortunately its the last one this year though, given we only have one more month to go its not much of a bonus because, as night follows day we'll be suffering more blank weekends as soon as 2025 kicks in

I really dislike these uninteresting breaks so much

Still coming to terms with Barlazy's wonder goal at QPR. You'll never see someone pass to the opposition more and score.

Hope he's nowhere near the team today.

2-1.

I know we'll have to agree to disagree Westlane_rightwinger but for me, in the right Boro team I really believe Barlasar is an asset, best passer of the ball the club have
