I remember listening to the radio one day & they were talking about the worst blokes name & Gordon was mentioned, on the plus side Gordon Jones, who I wasn't named after, was our first ever league cup debutant 11 days before I was born, maybe that swayed my dad who was a massive Boro fan

My dad stopped the 1st chosen name which i believe was to be Robert so it would of been Robert Bruce as a nod to the geezer from history (not sure if the Bentons are of Scottish stock).
I would of preferred Robert. Never liked the name Kenneth.

Even writing the name Kenneth still makes me duck. Its what my mum always shouted before she lobbed a glass dish at me or a right hook! 😅😅

Proper set me off thinking now about names and useage of them.

For eg yesterday out with Lids and his mum and dad for a pint.

I call Lids dad by his christian name but the "respect" i have for mates mums i never call his mum by her 1st name.

Never thought of why i do that til now. 🤔

The problem comes from the way we all say "could've" which is a contraction of "could have"; so..

could've
should've
might've
would've

..are all fine. You're only getting a reprimand for the use of "of" instead of "have". It's not a spelling issue or a grammar issue, it's just the wrong fucking word!
