Whilst I wouldn't be surprised at changes at the club, I would be suprised if Mogga returned, unless it was as a temporary measure, would rather see Colin back.

Nosmo-King

Could see it. Carrick won't change in his beliefs and methods, style of play - even though we are crying out for change.

So his stubbornness could well lead to his demise. And itis all down to himself

I really hope not, a Boro legend, a saint an excellent manager who has had a massive health scare who doesn't need to be near the Boro job

ZiEgE

Yeah, I started it. In the North Stand about 15 minutes into the second half.

Isn't that what managers do? Stick with what they think will work, you never hear of managers getting sacked because they changed their style of playing too much.

You hear of them being sacked because what they stick with isn't working...

You do, probably why we sacked Mogga last time round

In With the Lurpak

Pissing in the wind. He's employed 9 managers since 2017 when they last got relegated from the prem. Some thing tells me it might not be a manager thing that needs changing.

newyddion

Couple of things..

1. It might not be true

2. He might not becoming in as manager

BoroRedKen

erimus74

maybe Carrick needs more experience alongside him, someone who can see the game panning out, that would make more sense than removing him, bringing in another manager with his own team of staff followed by new players etc

LIDDLE_TOWERS999

BRING BACK COLIN 😁😁😁😁😁😁💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

I can't see it, unless like mentioned it's temp until the end of the season. I wouldn't say no to him coming in temp, as a number two to Carrick to help him for a while. No shame in that, if you want to learn and develop. I just can't see it though.

What is the point really of doing a Venables all over again?.

Football is now a result/success based buisness.

If we bring in an El Tel now its admitting that after 2 years Carrick WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH IN THE 1ST PLACE.

I dont care what a good player and person MC is. I dont care he got his grounding under Fergie at Man You.

So the last 2 seasons we shall put down to "inexperience" on the managers part? AGAIN? Its groundhog day. Its Mouthgate all over again.

Just go and look at the results from the last 9 home games. JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR MY CLUB.

As a Boro fan im fed up of mediocrity. From the board to the management to the players.

The European adventures. The run to a cup final. Promotion. These are now that long ago that they have become part of ancient Boro folklore.

How about we stopped making excuses for finishing 9th and 6th etc?.

This is a massive club run on league 2 finances and decisions off the field of play.

Right. Let me get my tin hat before you all pile on!

I love this club. I have sweated blood and tears to prove my love for my club with this forum. Detest OTR but there how many members registered for a Boro fans forum?.
We show our loyalty week in and week out with all our support. The bums on seats.

Im fed up with accepting 6th as "Good for the Boro".

The biggest problem I see is not Carrick but the fitness regime at the club

Why do we have so many long term injuries?

Why do we always seem to be having to make do with players out of position ?

Why do we get so many 'he felt it in training' absences?

Why so many he's been away on International duty so needs the rest?

Some good points Ken, I agree with most of that. Football has moved on since the 90's though, where we had a chairman that was considered very wealthy at the time. A multi-millionaire that is still a multi-millionaire won't get you to the heights that you previously had. The club has never really recovered from the financial crash of 2008, we owed the bank 95mil and they wanted it back with interest. That was the harsh reality, and the cutting the cloth accordingly comments from Keith Lamb at the time. When you add some awful decisions from the top into the mix, it's impossible to avoid failure on the pitch. From the outside looking in, the club does seem to be heading in the right direction, bringing in Scott and having a recruitment philosophy. However, in my opinion nepotism is still there, holding the team back.

Carrick in his first season overachieved.. helped in no small way by Akpom, Archer etc

Last season the injuries hit us big style.. something that we have perhaps not fully recovered from. Losing Morgan Rogers took the wind out of our sails imo.

The replacements have been fair and we still haven't overcome our injury problem. We're not that far from where we want to be and where we can reasonably expect to be.

I think the Mowbray rumour is just that.. although Carrick does have a bit of a mountain to climb with a depleted squad and expectations being raised so high. Carrick may get another offer and may feel like he is treading water a little.

Maybe we do need a bit of an old school touch.. a bit more flexibility in our approach. The current way of doing it by the numbers can se overly stubborn.. but the fact that fans feel disappointed after losing despite going down to 10 men is weirdly positive.

I think some fans think Carrick is too good for us and maybe we don't deserve him. Also I think fans underestimated the job that Mowbray did when he was with us and feel a little bit guilty.. especially after seeing him do so well with Blackburn and Sunderland.

Mowbray Magic over Keep Calm Carrick

Can't see it.. unless Carrick has a move lined up in the prem.

Keiron Scott might be the one who gets the move and Mogga could be brought in as DOF.. if there is any truth in the rumours.

If Carrick was to leave.. I'd be more than happy to see Tony Mowbray at the helm.

I too think they're just rumours regarding Mogga

And dont think theres a chance Carrick will get an offer elsewhere unless clubs can see him regular outthinking other managers

Dont want to see Mogga as our coach again, love the bloke & its not right he he should suffer as he did before, plus it very rarely works out returning same place again

The bottom end of the prem table.. with owners under pressure might go that route. They get the big name, little risk and potentially prep for the forthcoming championship season.

Plus we've seen stuff like Lampard managing Chelsea already.. Spurs could do something like that.

I get what you mean about Mogga.. but he knows the score and maybe feels like he's got some unfinished business with the club. It is what it is.
