QPR v Middlesbrough match thread

The great Sir Bruce once said in one of his after Boro match interviews that you never look at a league table until after 10 games have been played well, after 13 games last season we were on 20 points, we're two points short of that at present & winning at QPR in our 14th game will see us on 21 points.
Last season we had our worst start for a number of seasons, losing our big players & introducing a good number of young inexperienced players, this season we have retained our better players we have less points & 5 fewer goals scored, we just don't look as though we are progressing & we continually look to the next game thinking, we'll come good

So following that shambles at home to Coventry City its a fast turnaround of midweek Championship fixtures as we travel to West London to face second bottom, winless at home QPR. Boro who are in 11th place & so will hopefully make amends for the Coventry game & bring 3 points back to Teesside

I think we can assume, due to Hayden Hackney seeing red that our own Peter Pan, Johnny Howson, will rightly keep his place alongside Morris & just as important, Diyksteel will hopefully keeps his place over Ayling, who had an awful game v Coventry

Fingers crossed Doak is back for the game resting Jones, who I think is such a confidence player going through a difficult period, unfortunately I can't see Forss being anywhere near the match day squad, never mind starting eleven
Another player that seems to have vanished off the face of the earth is Engel, I think he gets some undeserved stick & IMO is better than Borges but not sure how he is on the injury front, Carrick just tells us he's around the group, whatever that is suppose to mean

Not the best of records away to QPR, though we won there last season, but it took us until 2009 to record our first win at their ground & then another 3 wins, fingers crossed Tuesday we'll see our 5th win at Loftus road

I think over the next few games we will be approaching the crossroads of how our season will be defined, do we stick with the same mundane football & think, next week will be our turning point, or try & change the whole aspect of the way the coaching staff are asking the players to perform. When it does work it looks really good on the eye, which it did against Leeds, Norwich & at times Watford, maybe its not the problem we think it is, because even though we regularly concede we should be outscoring teams on average 2 goals per game, but then on the flipside, as teams easily fluster us it causes havoc, then we have the teams that sit deep allowing us the time & possession, even to the point of us having attempts on goal knowing more often than not, we wont capitalise, then catch us on the break & have chances to score.
We just don't have enough in our game to have an answer for either scenario, we simply just keep on doing what we're doing in the hope it will come good eventually. We just cant seem to get any sort of consistency

There one stand out game for me when we've PLAYED QPR.

6-2 from many a year ago. 2 down after a few minutes, Boro came roaring back to lead at half time. The days of the great Hughie McIlmoyle.

What a header of a ball. Whilst full details of the game are a bit hazy, I do recall it was one of the best games turned on its head by us.

C'mon Boro!

I think tonights game is massive, nothings won or loss in the month of November but following Saturdays game tonights game the Boro have to show that its behind them, regroup put in a good winning performance & look forward to the rest of the 4 winnable games this month, either side of the boring, boring international break

Thought of Brynn too but Carrick is to loyal, or stubborn & dont think Dieng will want to miss going back to his former club
Ayling not for me he was poor against Sheff Utd, his goalline clearance apart & terrible, cheating too against Coventry
McCormack, good shout, I thought the young lad but could be to risky in such an important game
Jones, such a confidenxe player, I've posted in here over the couple of years how much he is to us but his confidence, not ability is shot & needs to be taken away from the whole sep up to get gis head right
Burgzorg, whi I went on record to say hes going to be one im excited about but hes been poor

Others nentioned its a toss up really, try someone instead of Azaz & see what happens
