Grownups used to say some mad shit in the 70's.

That swan will break your leg.

If you swallow chewing gum it will wrap round your intestines.

If I catch you hitting anybody I'll beat you senseless.

If you sit in the cold.. you'll get piles.

Are chilblains not a thing then?

BoroRedKen

Chillblains is pretty painful.

I thought it was if you sit on a wall or concrete you would get the farmers?.

"Bike? Bike? Ill give you bike boy".
"Its what i asked for dad"..

Am i getting old? Am i not remembering how things were?
I remember the steelwork strikes. My dad was a "flying picket" (No Newy not dem 1s!). We had nothing for months and months. The other strikers dropped off food parcels and money to us whilst dad was going round the country. But i remember laughter. Friendship. Other woman helping my old dear. Families rallying around. But above all else communities sticking together and all mucking in. (I have a newspaper cutting with a pic of my dad lunging forward and getting stuck into plod on the lines. Could be an auld twat my old fella but i grew up to respect the hell out of him. He would of stood by his young un currently).

Maybe im just "beat". "Battle fatigued". But life is no longer a laugh most times. Im full of hate and anger but so are so many other people for various reasons.
I even undetstand that lot OTR "hate and anger" towards some stuff. Might not agree but i understand it.

It was said earlier.

Nostalgia aint what it used to be! 😁👍

Hate and anger seem to be more prevalent on the only internet.

Everyone is hooked up to it 24/7 and then it seeps out into every day normal life.

Quite a lot of stuff to be angry about I guess.. but you don't have to be.
