This weekend the Boro will wear a one-off white kit against Coventry this weekend to raise awareness & highlight dangers of knife crime, some of the all white kits we've worn in the past

Since our previous home game against Sheff Utd, resulting in a tight, but fully deserved home win we travelled to Carrow road to face a Norwich team that were unbeaten in 6 games & unbeaten at home in 12 months & as the ref blew the half time whistle the mighty Boro were in full control with a 3-1 interval lead, we just blew Norwich away during a half which Sky viewers witnessed a slick & fast Boro team, second half we held Norwich City at bay for a good 20 minutes until a controversial moment, which seen us miss a miss penalty & a Carrick double substitution that suited the home team more than the Boro, we just totally lost our way & in the end were grateful with a point, unfortunately though, two worldie goals & an OG from our keeper was enough to continue Norwich's year long unbeaten home record

Coventry, who sit in 18th place on 12 points, 6 points behind the Boro & unbeaten in 2 games also came back themselves from a 2-0 down at home against Luton to win 3-2, have not lost at the Riverside since 22nd January 2022, so Saturdays we're overdue a Boro home win.
Mark Robins certainly has had the better of Michael Carrick over recent seasons

Are we now starting to see the Boro finally click into gear, score goals with our quick football, will we show that we have what is needed to climb into the top 6 playoff teams & remain there

Will Michael Carrick stick with the team that started v Norwich City & more importantly, Dijksteel, who had a cracking game, keeps his place over Ayling, I personally hope so

7th March 1925 - Boro 1 Coventry 1 - The 1st time we played Coventry at home, Saturday's fixture will be the 31st between the 2 teams on Teesside, with the following record:
Won - 13
Drew - 9
Lost - 8
Goals scored - 42
Goals against - 27

16/9/1995 - Coventry's Brazilian Issac who put Coventry 1-0 up in the 46th minute, was the first opposing player to score the first PL goal at the Riverside, Boro fought back  to win 2-1

We've played Coventry in various competitions over the years

The old 1st division before the PL days
Premier League
Old League division two - before named the championship
League Championship
FAC
League cup
Simod Cup
Barbadous cup losing 2-1 (1989)
Playoff semi finalists

Home debuts v Coventry City

25/4/2009 - Ben Gibson won 2-1

Home penalties v Coventry

No converted penalties, though the unthinkable did happen, John Hickton missed two penalties at home to Coventry on the 24th Fed 1976, Boro winning 2-0 & going 6th in the 1st division

Noel Whelan - Boro signed Whelan from the Sky Blues for £2.2million going on to make 61 appearances across three seasons with the Boro, scoring 5 goals. (2000-2008) He also scored an own goal against the Sky Blues on his 26th birthday
Alex Nimely - (2011) Shocking for us, 9 games, zero goals, signs on loan for Coventry & on his debut, scores his only 1st team goal in 17 appearances, City won 1-0
Lukas Jutkiewicz - 53rd loaned player - Loaned from Coventry & after one appearance signed permanently - 31st at the Riverside (2012-14)

Top top preview every time Erimus.you are in a league of your own. The memories come flooding back with your content.

I think we can nail the hoodoo against the Sky Blues who are not as strong in midfield or at the back this season.

2-1 to The Boro

I'll wait for Carrick's press conference before predicting 😉

newyddion

they can't keep pumping us..

3-0 boro.. time to pump

Too Much Perspective

Sick of the sight of Coventry. Robbins loves coming here, but his lot look leakier than in the last few seasons. There'll be a few goals in this one. 3-1 to either us or them.

Missing the match off to Budapest this weekend. Hoping for a win but think we might make hard work if it.

4-0 to the Mighty Boro.

The Shite in White will fix their recurring problems and finally win the day with a resounding victory!
