That is just criminal, so obscene

Yes, they say people are living longer, but does that really mean they have to work longer & work till they drop, this present government could show a caring side & even reduce the pensionable age to a more realistic age when the average person, if lucky, can 'maybe' retire with a few years in the bank

Its ok the very people who bring these ages to the table retire from a cushy job at a nice age to enjoy their 'well earned' nest egg

I was lucky to have worked on a chemical site for 38 years, yet as I looked towards retirement at times I was physically struggling, constantly working 12 hour shifts outside, in all weathers & by the river, connecting ships at say 2,3 in the morning plays a massive part on your body
Yes some people will choose to work as long as they can, some people want to for all reasons but to make people get up in the early hours, in all weathers is wrong in every way

What type of jobs are there out there when someone can go to work at the age of even 65, never mind 71

Imagine the first government to announce this in their manifesto will win with a landslide, pie in the sky I know £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

The unheard truth - the government would be delighted if folk popped their clogs before taking the state pension.

Your right Erimus. The process game is not always the most taxing of jobs but who would want to be working 12 hours shifts, climbing tanks and columns etc at 71 ? Were lucky our pensions allow us to get out early how many MPs would want to work to 71 if they had a real job ?

We need a full on rethink of the whole thing.

Welfare
Disability
Pensions
The NHS
Social care

None of them are fit for purpose and the promises made when they were introduced cannot be kept in modern times.

The french had national riots when their pensions were raised to 63. As a country we need to do the same. We've paid NI for 40 years and are entitled to it.
We have the lowest state pension of all the major European countries.
If we do riot I'm sure Starmer will call us far right and try to jail us.
