It's the clear politicization of law and order.  She deserves punishing but not that - it is, frankly, insane when compared to sentencing (or not) for much more serious crimes.  The speed and severity of these sentences is beyond suspect and is only due to political intervention.  That should not be seen as a good thing by any political persuasion.  State controlled politicized policing is Big Brother 101.

The legal system has to be separated from the whims of any ruling politicians for a society to work.  It has been a disaster across many large cities over here.
