Quote from: Kippers on October 19, 2024, 04:50:34 PMWe have some pretty good individual talent.

The best of which will be picked off soon.

Van Den Berg
Hackney
Morris
McGree

We have no plan

Players must be so frustrated playing in this boring, slow, slow system

Redsteel (Moderator)

Thing is we'll win win the next two, faith restored, onwards and upwards, beat Norwich and Sheff Utd, good teams, then lose the two after playing piss poor. We really should have kicked on after WBA. we were superb that night.

Carrick is slow to realise when it's not going well. Doak appears totally ineffective in the second half.  We need 2 upfront and right now that would be Burgzorg and Conway. Not convinced with Borges at all. I would like to see Djiksteel back in and how far is Fry off ?
Hamilton needs time with u21s to see what his game is all about.
Right now we have a lot of players just looking pretty and chosing easy options.

Don't think so, although I hope so.
Confidence has been shot.

Im gutted here, dodged a bullet not being well enough to the game but that performance was awful, as bad the final 15 minutes v Watford, as bad as the performance against Sunderland, as bad as the second half v Preston, Derby, how many games, the emotions of the game were not a factor, its our manager who is so tunnel vision with his style of play, we have talented players all over the pitch to mount a serious, assault on the playoffs but so far this season we've looked so weak, so disjounted, so unrelaiable at the back, massive headache for Carrick & Woodgate to address

The team looked down after conceding a goal within half hour, the atmosphere around the ground is poor & will get worse. I dearly wanted Carrick to sign a new contract & glad he did but something needs to be done to correct this awful slide

McGree should have started, Jones should have started, but until we stop conceding weak goals we'll only go in one direction

erimus74

Michael Carrick please dont come on tbe radio with any positivity & what should have been, come out angry, upset & it's not to be tolerated, 😡

Yep, just be honest MC
We didn't play well enough, we did nothing with our possession, more gifts for the opposition trying to play out from the back when the opposition have 5 players on ours, and our strikers are struggling to hit a barn door.

erimus74

TBF Carrick sounded fed up, he did start off by saying he cant keep saying the same things

He spoilt it by saying people wouldnt have said it before Watford scored, but we've struggled all season to keep goals out, we constantly struggle to put the ball in the net, Azaz who when on his game is a very good technically, gifted player then his head drops & he stays on for another 15 minutes contributing nothing, make a sub when you notice him drop his game

At the end of the day with the right management, hopefully the current ones, we have a good group of players to do a lot, lot better

Mams Spaghetti

Until aaa sped up his distribution it's a no for me. So slow to get the about of his feet.

Not sure why jones should have started he did nothing when he came on.

TBF, when Jones came on we were flat & gone, the ground was flat too, hard for any player to make an impression

Carrick won't change, change is needed. Conclusion? A parting of the ways is inevitable.......

Quote from: Nosmo-King on October 19, 2024, 05:51:33 PMCarrick won't change, change is needed. Conclusion? A parting of the ways is inevitable.......

I so hope he does change, I cant disagree with you Nosmo-king, I'm just fed up of changing managers every 18 months, 2 years. Good managers can see  thing things changing when other managers can out think them & then reinvent themselves
When he came in he was breathe of fresh air, but we've had other managers do the same then slowly over a period of time it turns sorrow, Sheff Utds manager, whose here on Wednesday, is a recent example of that

Listening to his after defeat talk he sounded fed up, he needs to address something, we can't continue to miss chance after chance & concede goals far to easily, as w have since he came here

erimus74

For me he has to be ruthless & make changes for Wednesdays match, Conway to start, McGree to start & when Gilbert is fit, he has to start ahead of Azaz, he keeps saying we have a big pool of players & they'll get their chances throughout the season, some should be playing now, I would also have Dijksteel ahead of Ayling

erimus74

Portsmouth
Derby
Preston
Sunderland
Watford
Bristol city

All teams that have taken points off us this early, if we had hand picked an easier start we couldn't have chosen better teams to face

If only we had a big center forward to get on the end of crosses.

We did and loaned him out.

Passing it about to zero effect all the damn time....  Fucking about with it at the back leading to us conceding....  Sticking with underperforming players (Lath has to be benched).

Bristol City haven't won away all season.

We've scored 10 in 10.

This is the first time I've started to lose faith in Carrick.

He's crocked for Millwall Clem, only a matter of time before their fans start saying it's a waste of a loan. In my opinion, we have to wake up to the facts that Coburn isn't reliable and it's not just a recent thing. He's been crocked on and off for a few years now. Not for me I'm afraid.

We're now seeing what Carrick has to offer now the nous of Aaron Danks has departed - and its not pretty. His tactical stubbornness is breathtaking, even by his own inflexible standards. Predictable garbage. But what really sets me off is listening to some of those after match comments on BBC Tees on my way home. One nugget even called for the reappointment of Neil Warnock! Not that I'm sticking up for Carrick, my views on him have been aired many times on here alone.

Did you hear on Tees the news that the Ref used to play for Bristol City?

Yeah, they said he was just there as a kid but never played for them.

But it wasn't the referee who decided to pay £3m for Micah Hamilton.

It isn't the referee that thinks Daniel Burgzorg is good enough to play Championship level football.

And it isn't the referee who thinks Finn Azaz is a better starting bet than Riley McGree.

Losing faith that he could fix it?  Not until now.
