If Gibson had cashed in on both of these over the summer, the level of abuse he'd be getting would be off the charts. "No ambition, we're a selling club etc etc".

I agree

Still think it was the right thing to keep ELL when Ipswich came calling, I do think however that if they had come in earlier in the transfer window with their offer, given us time to try & buy a replacement, then he may have gone, money does talk, doesn't always smack of lack of ambition but to spend more in other areas
He's going through a barren spell, as he did when he first arrived last season, he'll come through that I have no doubt, small margins

Yes for me Coburn shouldn't have been loaned out, he's either not good enough or is, if not, then sell him, don't keep unsettling the lad by putting him in the first team then next thing out onloan, the lad doesn't know if he's coming or going

I was expecting more from Burgzorg this season, only six games but goal apart, he's doing absolutely nothing & the goal he scored was a beautiful pass from the player he's replaced, Josh Coburn

I don't get this "we've been sussed out", every team can be sussed that's what coaches do when they go & watch other teams games prior to us playing them report back on their strengths & weaknesses

The reason Sunderland & Derby at their place & Preston & Pompey at the Riverside play their way is out of respect to us, knowing what w will do if they are intent on attacking us, so just sit really deep with a strong defensive unit, invite us on & if we do start to get on top they break the play up by feigning injury, this is Carrick's & Woodgate's biggest test to date, they'll have to overcome this latest setback

Our next batch of games, with Boro we never know which team will turn up.

Stoke City H - Struggled against them the last 3 home fixtures
West Brom A - Like us, a team who can be excellent one game & poor the next
Watford A - Won there last season
Bristol City H - Conway to continue with his goals against his former employees
Sheff Utd H - The return of Wilder
Norwich City A - Big game, could be both teams in the top 6 by then
Coventry City H - Struggling themselves too

We do appear to lack an option B if the opposition doesn't press.
We just play the ball in a horseshoe shape around the back and middle.
Even doing the same thing but really quickly would be an improvement, it's very slow at the moment.
I think Clem is right, we're missing Danks' input in training too.

Interesting to see how Boro/ex-Boro players have been getting on down there lately:
Saville: just had his 200th game for them. He's turned into a classic Ayling-style wind-up merchant and leader. Always on the team sheet.
Watmore: currently the division's second top scorer (5 goals in 6 games - not bad).
Coburn: they love him down there so far.

fukyu

Coburn was loaned out to give him game time and experience rather than warm the bench here and it's a good move for him. As things stand he I expect him to be sold .

Our poor results is simply down to the fact that the percentage of decent chances we convert is abysmal.

As far as Hackney & ELL...........Hackney has looked miles off it this season and ELL is back to how he was before his purple patch at the end of last season.

If Ipswich had offered the £20m upfront Lath wouldn't be here.

Simple as that.
