Massive derby game this weekend

After our frustrating home draw against Preston last Saturday, we travel to Wearside for this early/midday kickoff against once Championship leaders Sunderland, who last weekend lost their 100% & unbeaten start to the season with a 3-2 defeat at Plymouth Argyle
Boro have a decent away record under Carrick plus i'm expecting a more open game on saturday which should suit us allowing us to play more our game

I would guess Morris will be the only change from the starting line up from the Preston game replacing Barlasar
These will be Morris's toughest opponents of the season, him & Hackney will have to be 100% on top of their game, he's been a great signing so far & deserved the plaudits but Sunderland's energetic midfield will be a massive test for him, they'll be right up for this, as will Morris

Will Azaz have more opportunity & space against Sunderland, he was well marked against Preston & with tightly marked he couldn't find much room to spray passes about & struggled to show what he can do
McGrees lack of match fitness will see him again on the bench with Azaz keeping his place, if we're in a good position to introduce McGree  then great

It's a shame the game comes to soon for McGree, VDB, Forss, three big players who would be close to our starting eleven most weeks, Howson another influential player missing through injury, who can't be far away

Dieng, Ayling, Edmundson (VBD probably not ready yet) Clarke, Borges, Morris, Hackney, Jones, Conway, Azaz (McGree not ready yet) ELL

We've played Sunderland in the PL, 1st division, 2nd division, FAC, league cup, Anglo Scottish Cup & Texaco cup

1st away fixture on Wearside - 3rd December 1887 Sunderland 4 Boro 2
Won - 15
Drew - 21
Lost - 38

Goals against - 129

Alf Common - In February 1905, he broke the transfer record again by moving to Middlesbrough for £1,000, becoming the World's first £1000 Footballer. The Boro had purchased Common in an attempt to avoid relegation to the Second Division. His first game for Middlesbrough was on 25 February 1905, away to his former club Sheffield United. Boro won 1–0, with Common scoring from a penalty after 50 minutes, it was their first away win for nearly two years. Peter Davenport – 1988–89 signed for the Boro manager but managed just four goals from 24 games as Boro slipped back into the Football League Second Division. 1989–90 Davenport managed a mere three goals from 35 league games, by the end of the season Bruce Rioch had gone & Boro were now managed by Colin Todd. Me & my younger brother got tickets in the home end for a league cup tie back in 2012, Scott McDonald scored the only goal of the game, so hard sitting thete when your team score, especially against your rivals, done the same at Newcastle when Paul Wilkinson scored the only goal of the game

I know when the other lot are down to 10 men it's like Christmas Day for a winger and all that, but if Sunderland are doubling up on anyone, it'll possibly be Jones after the way he tore through them last trip there. A return to form for him this weekend could not be better timed.
