As individuals they are both terrible candidates.  What matters is what their respective parties will be able to do behind them as well as what they will be able to block the other party from doing.

He should have stuck to the big policies and ignored her attempts to get under his skin: the economy (inflation, jobs, energy, transport etc), law & order, immigration, world affairs/wars etc were undoubtedly all better under him than under Biden/Harris. 

She is no different from Biden (as the Dems are working both puppets) and he should have stopped her wriggling to separate herself from the current administration's failures with the "turn the page" "look at the future" bollocks.  That is a break here strategists are clearly trying to make.  He should have called out the mess she made of being California DA (crime spiraling, murderers out on no bail to murder again) and VP (Tsar Border my ass).  He nearly struck a strong blow when she made a mistake saying she met Zelensky and 3 days later Russia invaded - showing how Russia views the current administration as weak.

As usual his ego made him react to personal attacks.  Ranting about Biden was a poor tactic - she was right saying "I'm not Biden, you are running against me". But he should have countered with here being jointly responsible for the current mess - he didn't.

The average American is really struggling with inflation, mortgage rates etc.  He should have pounded that point home time and time again.  Homelessness is going through the roof due to the economy and immigration. There is a large homeless camp about 5 miles from me.  Not just some downtown hell hole life SF, LA etc but out in the sticks and suburbs.

They said he disrespects the military - how about their completely inept withdrawal of Afghanistan that caused unnecessary deaths etc?  Same with Law & Order - they are weak and criminals knowing they will face limited consequences means, guess what?, more crime.

The cat thing is true and has been doing the rounds the last week or so.  The bigger issue though is that the town of Springfield, Ohio, where that happened, had a population of 60,000 and they have put an additional 20,000 immigrants there over the last few years (mostly Haitians).  Is that sustainable, is that OK?  Is it fuck.

The left simply cannot manage the economy, law and order, immigration and foreign affairs.  Their ideology fucks it up time and again and without that bedrock of stability all the other stuff they want to do is fucked up at its foundation.  There is no magic money tree, there is no leveling up, give people an inch they will take a mile.  Fuck off.
