Just begs the question are car drivers just meant to trundle along at 20mph until an opportunity to overtake arises allowing cyclists to continue their little chats :-)

Maybe 2 Tier Keir should make them pay tax and insurance,
That would bring in a few quid.

Yes cars dont own the roads.

As you may of guessed I am a cyclist, like most cyclists I have already paid vehicle tax.
And if I crash into a car I aint going to cause anywhere near the damage a car will do if it crashes into me.

So you would rather I drive my vehicle adding to the congestion or ride my bike reducing congestion?

Looking at the state of many cars on the road I would say my bike is worth more, its certainly better maintained.

If I'm on a bike and it's not safe for cars to pass me I will happily cycle in the middle of the lane.

Car drivers should set off earlier if they're in a rush to get somewhere, poor planning from them.

I do this also purely from a safety aspect some drivers are so desperate to get past you they do stupid things. But I often wave cars past if its safe to do so and I do regularly stop and let drivers past me if I feel I am holding a queue of vehicles up.

We have to stop seeing cyclists as the enemy, ultimately they are reducing your journey time because they are reducing congestion.

Agreed!

I think some people see them and instantly get angry, these people have usually never rode a bike on a road though.

Whenever I'm stuck in slow moving traffic, because of cyclists, learner drivers, roadworks or whatever, I try and notice things about my surroundings that I wouldn't normally get to notice when I'm going the normal speed limit, it's much nicer than being angry and frustrated all the time!

Thanks for that constructive comment I will remember it when I arrogantly pull over to let some one pass or wave someone by when its safe too do so and the drivers vision is obscured, I always make sure I flick the V's when they pass just to show them who's boss.
