The Chase "Money Glitch" is Not a Glitch

1/ A viral TikTok shows people depositing checks for large amounts of money into Chase ATMs. Here's the glitch and the reality of the situation—and why you should avoid it!

2/ Chase Bank has a policy that grants you a percentage of the deposited check as instantly available funds. People are exploiting this by depositing fake checks, then immediately withdrawing the funds.

3/ But here's the catch: when the check bounces, you are on the hook for the money. You'll be required to pay back the funds, and your account could be overdrawn by thousands of dollars.

4/ 🚔 Depositing fraudulent checks is illegal. Participating in this could lead to serious criminal charges, including fraud and theft, which carry heavy fines and potential jail time.

5/ 💼 Plus, Chase and other banks actively monitor for suspicious activity. Engaging in this so-called "glitch" will most likely result in your account being frozen or permanently closed, and you could be banned from opening accounts with other banks

It's not a "glitch" it's just old fashioned "check Fraud"  The only thing glitchy is Chase probably outsourced the ATM software and some $6 an hour developer missed putting in a check hold. But that doesn't mean free money

who cashes cheques? Just asking.  I am pretty sure the Risk department, that will be enormous don't have it in their top 100 risks.

At a guess I would say hacking is top, China, India, Russia and Africa.

Hedging.

Staff fraud risk will be near the top.

The duff cheques were deposited into the cash machines outside the branch

Once the depositor put it in the machine and told the machine it was worth $100,000 they were then allowed to walk into the branch in person and take out a percentage of that money straight away knowing it would bounce days later. The glitch was the machines were not telling the counter staff to put the cheque on hold until it cleared along with a policy they had of allowing people to take out a percentage straight away.

Where Banks & Money are involved I believe something even more sinister took place to be honest.

I don't doubt that.

Trump talks some shite but he did say never worry one second over a bank.

Mams Spaghetti

Yeah our pal just one of those $6 an hour developers - I'd hazard a guess there's bot one $6 an hour developer in America possibly anywhere in the world!!

Did anyone watch the documentary about the Chinese lad in the US who stole billions in crypto off the Mafia and other thiefs.

He was caught because he went to the police to complain he had had a break in at home.

The police walked and questioned why he had so much techie equipment.

No one had ever heard of him. He lived the life.

The daft thing no one wanted the money back and the value of the crypto was twice what he had stolen.
