Not been a fan of the show for many years now but enjoyed that bit of MOTD nostalgia

Goals & games of my youth growing up to the present era
From black & white games infront of audience of 20k to the global stage we see today

Barry Divies & Motty the standout commentators, the pitches, tackles, players, characters, they had itvall back then

Boro very rarely featured on the show, though thankfully, one of my favourite FAC matches of all time Boro v Sunderland 1975 seen the mighty Boro win 3-1

Even the smuggness of Linekar & Shearer didn't spoil the program for me

Thoroughly enjotable 60 minutes, if you can get it watched, 👍

Remove the greed, modern stadiums the 70's & 80's with the old grounds, attmosphere, different level stands, are still the golden era of football

The big match had Crystal Palace v Boro from 74. We won 1 -3.

I knew the team apart from a lad called Taylor beside Boamy. I googled him he played 18 games. I would never had known who he was.

1973 we won 3-2

Bryan Taylor he ended up going to Doncaster Rovers & later Rochdale, against big Jacks wishes because he couldn't see past Willie Maddren

That studio post-match analysis by Jack & Big Mal was good stuff.
Something like:

Mal....
"I'm not getting the effort off the older players".
"I'm going to make the pitch narrower".

Jack.....
"We've been asking Millsy to attack that front post and not wait at the back post. Now he's scored we won't be able to stop him".
"I thought Platt was at fault but watching it again he probably wasn't".

I wish they would do that with the managers now. Big Ange discussing with Dyche the detail of Spurs trouncing Everton would have been interesting.

Jack in a yellow shirt with huge collar and a brown tie. Those were the days.

I enjoy watching the old footy games and stuff on YouTube from the 70s and 80s, the crowds and the old stadiums are fascinating

The football leaves a bit to be desired though. Big gadgie up front - hoof the fucker up to the cunt and hope for the best

Thank god for modern tv and virgin boxes. Can fast forward all of the talking and just watch the action

a lot was down to the back pass to the keeper.

Still I preferred that to 30 passes between the back 4.
