Is the signing of Tommy Conway a sign that we are serious challengers

Since we were relegated under Karanka we have, at times, spent big with each season following relegation, apart from the odd season, we've just been making up the numbers

Then Michael Carrick arrived, we were third bottom of the championship & within no time had us competing with Sheff Utd for the second spot, playing cracking football, scoring plenty of goals, unfortunately we sort of fell away to finish 4th & ended up losing the playoff, the following season was a bit stop, start, big players leaving with a bunch of new recruits coming in, to much unsettlement & injuries put paid to our season virtually from the start

During the summer Carrick recruited early but with Conway it's been a long waiting game with other teams showing interests, unbeknown to us fans Boro were Conways choice soon as he met Carrick & heard his plans, but due to things outside his control we had to go through a waiting game

Has his signing transformed the Boro, in the eyes of the media & other clubs, into serious contenders for the top 2 spots, or most likely playoff contenders!

I think its more of a sign we're going to sell Latte Lath.

Hope I'm wrong, though.

I would never say never, but it's highly unlikely, IF you have genuine aspirations of going up. I would say it's more of a lesson learnt from last season, where we were seriously short of numbers when injuries hit the squad hard. Lots of games to play, so I expect a rotation of all players, hopefully giving us a constant level of high performance.
