What type of vibe do you want? Somewhere you can go and be left alone? Or somewhere to meet and chat to people?

South of France is great, but I'd say not great if you want to talk to new people. Decent flight time etc. Lots to see if you like scenery, can go visit Monaco etc.

SI gets mentioned a lot. Would love to do the races in Ireland.

I would describe myself as "old skool hedonistic" but love to talk(eff off!!) And dont think im Kajagoogoo (Too Shy). But do like solitude also.

If I was on my own, I'd think about one of them cargo vessel holidays. Look them up - cargoholidays.com - seems interesting.
When the kids have left and the mortgage is paid off, I'd also love to jack the job in and do summers in somewhere like Eurocamp in France or Spain doing maintenance on caravans etc.

good choice. I worked there about 2 weeks a year for over 8 years. Nice people, different approach to life, no pissed up loonies.

It's defo gonna be Thailand!

Bangkok is cool.. but the best bits are a bit further afield.. the train to Kanchanaburi is an unforgettable experience.. beautiful and picturesque. staying on a river in one of the floating homes on the river kwai is a great chilled out experience.

Get out to the islands! If you have any scuba diving experience there's some cool nighttime dives.. even throwing a couple quod in and asking a local fisherman to give you a bit of a tour. Crystal clear blue waters with tropical fish everywhere.. the locals don't seem arsed at all!

Not been there for years but remember it hot as fuck. Still had the old busses. Used to walk past building sites on the way to grab a beer in the morning and the builders were wearing jumpers which knocked me sick as I was roasting. Head first into the freezer at the corner shop ST Pauls. My ex: " you comin out yet?" Is a good place though, plenty of history. Even if its toasting Oliver R. Sure that Island got medals?
