My first port of call wouldn't be to stir up racial hatred and incite a riot smashing up the town that's for sure.

What's the idea here? Make the streets so unsafe that nobody will want to live here? Smash up everything so there's nothing worth having?

It's too late for Middlesbrough. The time to protest was 15 or 20 years ago. This was when the Compass scheme contractors earmarked Middlesborough as a hotspot for asylum seekers due to dirt cheap rents and lots of vacant properties. Never mind the fact that the area had one of the highest unemployment rates in the country.
The council greenlit it without so much as a by-your-leave from the voters. And not a word from the MP of course. The whole town centre has been treated as a get rich quick scheme for landlords for decades, and you see the results today.
