Cleverly was clearly the only candidate who came across as being anything close to statesmanpersonlike during the party conference auditions. But assuming the current climate over immigration will still be the hot potato come GE time, the public in general will never elect a non-white PM, it pains me to say.

She was not given a chance. The much derided mini-budget was far from the train crash that the media decided to paint it as, it was a proper conservative budget. She was by far the best of the options then.

She ran before she could walk,she sacked the big idiot who was an architect of it save herself then got booted anyway. It's fine to sit round a table theorising how to fix things but you have to take in external factors when applying it. From PM to no job in a couple of years is a pretty impressive fall.
