I will give Southgate one thing - he is a bloody lucky manager. Lucky with stumbling through the group, lucky against Slovenia, lucky last night.

All of this, despite tactics and team selection, player positioning, constant ultra caution approach despite having a potent striker and forward option, the lack of intent is poor- yes, even very poor.
