Guess which pissflap said this about Gascoigne "He's most well known for crying at Italia '90/That Walkers advert and beating the **** out of his wife."

Gazza is certainly a flawed person but he was an exceptional player.  To suggest o//w is just fucking stupid.

PS: atypical_boro - good job arguing with it but you'd be better off ignoring the odious cunt.

Considering the pair of pricks don't rate him and one of them switches off his podcast when his name is mentioned, they have lots to say on the subject, they're like Smalltime on a brexit thread, go on lads 🤣

For me, Gazza was best player in the world leading up to Italia 90 & unplayable in the tournament itself

I honestly believe his biggest mistake was signing for Spurs instead of Man Utd, Fergie would have controlled him, the 1991 FAC run he was immense, his semi final free kick v Arsenal was top drawer, yet the final itself v Forest he was too highly strung, a game that two tackles later ruined his career, Fergie would have seen the signs, either put him on the bench, or not played him at all

Remember him coming to Ayresome Park with Spurs & all the shops around the ground sold out of mars bars that when Gazza came on to the field they threw them at him from all directions, he made a joke of it at first, picking one up, taking a bite then throwing it away, done this a few times but didn't return for the second half as his head had gone

I do feel sorry for him, he was involved in a tragedy as a child that must have made such an impact on his life, hung around with the wrong people, who he thought were there for him, but nowhere to be seen once it all dried up, a Fergie figure at the start of his career would have made him in to one of the best ever, IMHO mind

When he came to us he was finished, not a Boro player I look back on with any good memories really

Why do they have to hate/can't stand people OTR?

I remember Gazza playing a cross field ball, coops cut it it out a couple of steps and bang, back of the net. :leo3:

100% agree.

He was absolutely superb, for club and country, in the period running up to that FA Cup injury (I remember it happening clear as anything). I watched him play for Lazio and he was a shadow of his former self. He never fully recovered his form or fitness.

Steboro

Watched the 2015 documentary about him the other week.

Had it pretty rough with handling the stardom to be fair.
