D Day sportsmen

Just watched a fascinating interview with a guy that has just wrote a book about the sportsmen of the time that were killed in WWII.

Interesting thing to me was footballers were normally just put in as "squaddies" but because cricket was more "upper class" them players were shot in as comminsioned officers.

Even the war days had a "culture war" issue!.
