Warned you all!
I get slated for being a smoker and have said for ages when they have done everything but actually ban ciggarettes they will come for drinkers.

Costs the UK 27 billion quid.

Chubsters next......

Hound

Yeah you don't have to be Sherlock to realise the next step will be alcohol on the hit list, but like with cigarettes the government have a way of making a shit load of money out of it on the way to banning it.
But them sort of bans by the government will be fine according to some, no mention of draconian measures.

teamboro

When they ban it it will go under ground remember what happened in America under prohibition
TEESSIDER and Proud  of the area unlike some and I'm not a Racist

Both spot on.

Personally i have no objections to alcohol. I go for a pint with Lids and i drink coke.

It cant happen.
We live in a society where cocaine is more "socially acceptable" than smoking. Cocaine is EVERYWHERE!.

It's sounds mad but is 100% true.

time to have a sensible conversation about drugs and change the legislation.

Got to agree Newy.
If you "mix" in those kind of circles you would "see" the drug issues/availability.
You would also "see" the violence and other criminality involved.

Its strange that a lot of people championing the views of Gen X and accepting that young uns think/behave differently that they will not even enter into drug conversations.

You don't need to mix in any circles. Someone being done for coke in the bogs 15-20 year ago it was a big deal and a rarity. Now you struggle to go for a slash for the crowds of non toilet goers lol

Seems a bit mad looking in the papers and seeing the police looking proud as punch over a 'drug raid' two dog ends found in Billingham town centre or diablos seized at local music event.. tie dyed apparel was reportedly being worn in front of young families.

Absolute waste of money.. definitely not value for money. Doesn't feel like crime is falling.. just a few cheech and chongs being short of some spare change. We should go for the options that have the best net effect overall. Cost effective solutions that reduce harm and improve communities where possible.

Working Men's Clubs are closing left right and centre.. how about giving WMCs licences to sell cannabis like the coffee shops in Amsterdam?

Ooh matron!

BoroRedKen

Anybody remember Mally from Silks? Hardest transvestite in the world! (20 yrs before it was "cool").

Unbelievable watching a geezer in a leather mini skirt leathering 2 Irish contractors! All without losing his wig or false fingernails! Never had a problem getting stuck in (get your minds out of the gutter!).

Norman was proper old school. Respected all over. Lovely fella. 1 of his sons was a DJ on the boat Jason B. Silks "reputation" back then was far worse than it actually was. 👍

Norman bushby... his hair was the stuff of legends
