Had Rebecca Reid on last night with Adam Brookes on Patrick Christys show.
They were discussing at what age should children be taught sex ed.
AB said his daughter is 10yrs old and he is not comfortable with her getting taught about sex/gender/realationships at her age.
Rebecca Reid is your typical poster child for "wokies and lefties".
Her constant response to AB? "I guarantee your 10yr old daughter has watched porn".
She repeated this numerous times until AB snapped and told her to "shut up" because he was "getting the serious hump with her".

1. how he kept his cool is beyond me.

2. How can RR "guarantee" his 10yr old daughter has watched porn? What facts and figures could she possibly have to prove that about 1 particular child?.

I am getting really concerned about our children. What are they getting taught? 11+ is surely the age to teach about these things.
I still refuse to believe that 3 and 4 yr olds come out with "i feel i should be a different sex".
Like swearing, drug/alcohol abuse, criminality, laziness its all "learned" behaviour. Almost cognitive.
Its a form of Parental Munchaussen Syndrome to me.

'The birds and the bees' - where babies come from.. can you imagine some kid coming home from school aged 10 talking about the stork leaving babies in the garden. Bizarre!

Guarantee your 10 year old has watched porn

Such a crass, unsubstantiated, bloody stupid thing to say.God help us if her and her ilk ever get into positions of power.

They simply aren't smart enough.

I do get your "sarcasm" Newy and tbh i enjoy sarcasm.
My point is not the basic "birds and bees" stuff (all of us parents have prob had that convo at some point) but the other gender/ideology stuff.
Yes my kids are now adults. Father of 4. I can honestly say all through their childhood there was never a single mention of gender, transition etc from them and all the kids around them as friends.
The sudden appearance of it all sprung from nowhere.
Is it a generation thing? Is it social media problem? Is it a "fad" thing?.

They already are. This sudden switch from male and female, to non-binary, pansexual, and god knows how many other references, these sick fuckers like to call themselves, isn't by accident. Even sicker are the ones trying to normalise kid fucking, by telling us it's wrong to call a peado a peado, and should refer to as Minor Attracted! Men dressing in bondage gear, simulating sexual acts in front of kids during public parades. The whole lot is fucking disgusting in my eyes, and no one, and I mean no one is ever going to convince me otherwise that this is normal behaviour.

I very much doubt there was no mention of gender when your kids were growing up.. the whole boys like blue girls like pink has been a very strange gender identity that has been placed on kids and parents.. most likely though marketing.. boys like army stuff.. girls like kitchen play stuff.. hmm not so sure about that. you'd struggle to say the likes of gordon ramsey or heston blumenthal was a big girls blouse for being able to cook up some decent scran.. I think the penny has dropped with a few things like that more recently.. times change and attitudes change.

Womens bic razors.. just the basic ones did cost a shit load more just because they are pink rather than blue.. the colour being only difference.

Lots of different things were seen as being 'gay' when I was growing up.. reading, playing a musical instrument.. and even kissing a girl lol

We now have American youtubers trying to suggest that eating bananas is gay.. wiping your arse is gay! Wow! Some very insecure individuals either jumping on the bandwagon to make some cash or as is in a lot of cases they are struggling to come to terms with their own sexuality. Should it be taught at school that kissing girls isnt gay? Should girls be taught that they can be more than a dishwasher or a baby sitter? I think so. My mate is well into his motorbike and his little girl has helped him with taking engines apart, refurbing, putting engines together etc.. her school projects are immense btw

as far as transgender and gender identity being a trend.. well there are many instances across many different cultures through the ages that suggest that this is not the case. 'two spirit' a  term used by native American  people who fulfill a traditional third-gender (or other gender-variant) social role in their communities. The kathoey  a third gender identity that goes back to the 14th century in Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.

Gay rights, women's rights, civil rights can all seem very new, maybe they are put across as being very progressive in their nature.. but it's only really in recent years that we've had such regressive and backwards ideas towards gender and sexuality. Boudica, Cleopatra & Joan of Arc weren't playing with tiny tears and my first kitchen. The romans would go to war with their male partners.. we fucking castrated that poor cunt Alan Turing despite his amazing work against the Nazis in WW2

Fashions, Flags and Public outrage.. we'll always have older generations waving the waggy finger against the youth of today. Back in the 1970's we had non of this nonsense.. when blokes wore make up and used hairspray to excess!

Is Olly Alexander really saying or doing anything that Bowie and Bolan weren't doing much better in the 1970s.. is Sam Smith really outraging public decency? Is he doing anything that Madonna wasn't doing in the 80s?

It's so dangerous and unique and controversial.. or maybe just whipping up the general public into a frenzy to sell more tickets and buy more tat.

This place certainly is whizzer with so many jolly japes and intricate witticisms.. huzzah!

I think its good for the board to have a member that can eloquently put the other point across.
Nothing "slating" opinions. No calls of "transphobe". A reasonable debate, even with small elements of humour.

Yes you will get a few "daf cuns" fired at you. Yes you will get "OHHHHH THE WOKEY COKEY" (and thats just from me!) but the point remains that you can have this debate on here without it going off on a tangent or people setting up other people with a trapdoor.

I have no objections paying for the space if debates/views can be discussed this way.

Yes that post was long for here. But it does what it is meant to. Open debate and exchange of views/points without "slagging off" with menace.

I say the same to Newy like i have to the other ex flyme lads. You have to accept that for a little while there will be that connection to OTR still fresh in some minds.

Sometimes stuff has gone beyond "banter". The Racism Raw bollocks. Changing of banned members posts (i found that really low tbh. They have no Scooby what effect that could of have had to the individual. To me it broke EVERY "privacy" law and Rob seriously failed in his legal obligations re privacy and confidentiality).

I have always said im fair game. Im just as bad sometimes. But to tar everyone else on here the same is frankly out of fucking order.

Chap 16 verse 14......

So much for me just posting about footy.. that lasted about 5 minutes!

The wokey cokey.. it's just the new political correctness gone mad. Stories of Bah Bah Green Sheep and kids having to play conkers with safety goggles. Opinions are more often set in stone, debates and arguments have been monetised through social media stoking division.. folks might think that they are revolutionaries or activists.. but all they are really doing is increasing shed sales and hentai porn site subscriptions. Crazy to see so called social media 'activists' being lauded as rising stars in the local political scene. Hashtags don't bring much needed jobs into the area nor does it show any level of competence or understanding regarding local issues.

we have politicians who do not understanding their roles and responsibilities and both their supporters and detractors do not seem to be able to grasp what left or right actually means on the political spectrum.

just lots of happy clappers with pantomime boos and hisses while all our money gets spunked up the wall.

BoroRedKen

During my legal battles the 1 thing they dont get is why a football message boards dont just chat about footy.
They just dont get that football fans talk about other things. Sometimes even at the football!

other secret things might very well be wrong.. or.. they might just be the new 'bah bah green sheep' - something blown out of all proportion, taken out of context or intestinally misinterpreted just to create some sort of us and them scenario.

nothing that seems to be causing outrage most recent is particularly new.. in your 60s with more experience than me I'm sure you will have seen it before in some slightly different form.

Clem Fandango

There has been a distinct recent change in terms of the % of young people identifying as trans (or whichever of the 125 genders there supposedly are now).  It isn't a natural phenomenon and increasing at a rate that isn't natural either.

It's driven by a mixture of attention seeking, desperation to be trendy, cool and different, mental illness, social contagion, media influence (main stream and social), influence of weirdo educators - lots of reasons.

If an adult wants to pretend to be something they aren't then, ok, go for it - just don't expect anyone else to agree or pander to your nonsense.  Minors should in no way have irreversible treatments or surgeries.

BoroRedKen

I dont get this current thing about the rainbow lanyards. DRs on X all over the shop. Dawn Butler acting like a 5yr old.

The ridicule they are dishing out when asked about colours for disabled or for mental health patients.

I have always thought lanyards are just peacocking. Why do people wear them on their dinner hour outside? Ohhh look at me twats in my book!

Clem Fandango

It all links back to the basic human need for attention.  The yearning to be seen, to be validated and respected.  This is why social media is so intoxicating (and why we are posting here - heh).

An interesting aspect to this is that while people are trying more and more to be seen and heard they are conversely becoming much less open to listening to others.  People are in their own little bubble of importance - the star of their own movie.

We all lean towards like minded people and shun those who argue with us.  Social media just makes that far easier to do.  It's less easy in real life where you have to learn to compromise or respect other's opinions - or you get a smack in the gob.
