Southgate comes across as the best we've had, deals with the media well. Our newspapers seem like absolute mentalists when it comes to the England job and he seems to have a handle on that. Also all the club rivalries seem to get put aside for the national team now.. not sure many managers would have been able to do what he's done tbh.

Being in the positions he's been in have made him uniquely equipped for the England job imo

This squad is or will be up there with the golden generation, but unfortunately the defence will let us down.

Pickford is steady enough but we need a better keeper.

Shaw is injury prone
Walker is ageing
Maguire is error prone
Stones is decent but need better


Then we have Guehi and Branthwaite that have the potential to be England regulars.
Chillwell not good enough
Trent is brilliant going forward not so good at defending.
Trippier not good enough
Gomez injury prone and not good enough
Mings decent
Tomori decent



The midfield is filled with talent

Rice, Foden, Gallagher, Mainoo, Maddison, Eze and Gordon but you know Southgate will turn to Henderson.

Forwards of Kane, Toney, Saka, Grealish, Rashford(who I wouldn't take) and possibly Sancho.

I just think the defence will be our Achilles Heel.

Not keen on international football, friendlies, or internationals but looking at the players Southgate has to pick from the semi finals must be the least England can achieve. Is this the year England can place their name next to our 1966 winners!
