Gary Millar sworn in as new Lord Mayor of Liverpool
City entrepreneur hopes to represent Liverpool with "passion and humour"





He also intends to help promote the  city as a safe place for people  from the gay and lesbian communities to live and work 

Cllr Millar's appointment also makes history, as he becomes the first Lord Mayor in the country to be in a civil partnership.

His partner, business guru and semi-professional singer/ songwriter Steve McFarlane, will be his consort for his year in office.
