Boro travelled to Grimsby Town a team we hadn't faced at their place since April 1967 & a ground we haven't won at since 1962

Struggling at the wrong end of the 2nd division (championship) & no away win since the 28th December 1982 when the mighty Boro took all points at Carlisle, the upcoming Grimsby fixture was going to be a tall order indeed

Typical Boro, as me dad use to say, never back em & never back against em, turned the away formbook on its head, we came away with a fantatsic 3-0 win, goals from Paul Sugrue his 3rd & final goal of the season, Gary Hamilton his 1st ever Boro goal & iconic, talisman Heine Otto, with his 7th of the season, the result gave us a bit of breathing space, easing our fight against relegation
