Erimus. Under the Tories we pay more tax than ever before.

£40 to get my garden rubbish taken away seems a good deal to me.

I happen to agree on why the need of change of bins, I think but could be wrong it's something to do with the bin lorry.

stop ranting about a £40 annual tax increase when you support a government who are screwing the average Joe to the bone. The highest tax percentage since Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring sent a few bombers over.

You support a no good mayor who looks after his own before me you my kids wife the bloke next door.

I can't wait for Labour to set up a NAO report on him and his mates who are £200m better off than they should be. It makes my £40 pitiful.

No blah blah blah there.

Blott

like most lads used to come to our house before we went out. My mam being typical of her time filled them with tea and Sandwiches.

Only once did I ever here make a comment about a lad, basically saying he seems dodgy.

I can hear her saying the same about Houchen.

Well apart from you Blotty & OTR, I've never heard anything bad about Houchen, not one wrong word, I wonder why?

Blott

We mix in different circles. I don't hear a decent thing.

Don't need to mix in different circles, whatever that means. The gazette often publish what he's doing right in our area, FB etc

Birds of a feather and all that?

Its funny that Hounchen mayor and Preston Mayor still get mentioned more than cardboard, wheel him out for a handshake photo opportunity "Mayor" Cooke....

BoroRedKen

Mind you the stealth Mayor Cooke used in eradicating the need for  foodbanks in Boro needs commending.

You never hear owt about them now. Well once a month maybe at the ground....😁😁

Ural Quntz

Blotty - you are turning into a red crocky with your random and somewhat bizarre arguments presented apropos well er nothing relevant really

e.g.
The highest tax percentage since Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring sent a few bombers over.

You support a no good mayor who looks after his own before me you my kids wife the bloke next door.

I can't wait for Labour to set up a NAO report on him and his mates who are £200m better off than they should be

Your unhealthy addiction to Ben Houchen smacks of that peculiar Labour characteristic of Politics of Envy a little too much.

The £200m you harp on about has been looked into officially already and nothing untoward was revealed

How you can accuse erimus of ranting just puts you well beyond the pale of sensible debate

Please stop being silly - you risk being labelled as a male Anna Turley

BoroRedKen

I enjoy Blottys random sayings tbh.

I do struggle with "hate" towards Houchen. Tbh its nothing other than Houchen is a conservative.

If anybody else (other than a conservative) had championed TIA the way Houchen has he would be lauded.

What does piss me off is people who dumped Boro and now live anywhere other than Boro always moaning about Houchen/Mayor.
These people could not wait to dump Teesside.

Name a prominent Flyme poster who still lives in Teesside let alone Boro.

Even the grass dont live in Teesside!!

BoroRedKen

Take Raynor "taxgate".

I have listened to some excuses. "She should not be under the same scrutiny as the Gov". "Its only 1300 quid". "Its before she was a politician".

With me im more "concerned" with the fact she may have committed electoral fraud.

The media brought BJ down over a cake. If they keep up with this story i have no doubt Starmer will throw her under a bus.
Starmer IS running scared of Raynor. This will play right into his hands to get rid of her.
I have never known a Labour leader be so unpopular with Labour voters.
Dont forget there was no one more cosy with Corbyn than Starmer. Not exactly best buddies are they now.......

BoroRedKen

And Labour are coming under more scrutiny because the majority of people accept that they are the next Gov of the UK.

As a former Conservative party member Labour should be my vote. But i cant stomach Starmer. I cannot forget that lockdowns and Covid would have been more draconian than it was.
The "cost" of lockdowns would have been doubled.

What financial state would we have been after longer lockdowns etc?

Cakegate vs Durhamgate. Shambolic.

Reform are starting to shoot themselves in the foot.

The 1st election ever for me where i will decide on the day.

No blah blah blah there.

Mostly blah, blah, blah!

The single biggest effect on the increase in taxation is from the increase in Corporation Tax.
The personal thresholds have been frozen
National Insurance has been reduced.

Pre-Covid the UK was well below the average EU tax percentage increase.
The Covid (con) was the single largest economic dislocation since the Second World War.

How many people moaning about the tax load in the UK were very happy to be furloughed for a year, getting the bulk of their salary for watching Netflix? The hospitality industry bailouts, the grants greedily mopped up by all and sundry.
How do you think that is financed?

The greedy doctors want a 35% increase, even more money to throw at the scared cow that it is the NHS.

Let's have a conversation after 2 years of the incoming Labour government about the economy and taxation.

Blott

Agreed in 2 years time we will have a clue, the following is probable.

Tax has risen as a share of GDP partly because Britain's economy has grown more slowly since the 2008 financial crisis. Annual GDP growth averaged 2.0% from 2010-2019, compared with 3.0% from 1997-2007. The International Monetary Fund forecasts British growth in 2024 will be the weakest of any major advanced economy.20 Nov 2023

Under current government plans, UK tax revenue is forecast to increase to 37.7% of GDP
by 2027–28. This would take the UK above both the current OECD
 and G7
averages. It should be noted, however, that other governments may also increase their levels of taxation by then.

I am still happy to pay £40 to get my brown bin clearer.

Blott

To make my position clear. You cannot say ah but Labour when the Tories have blew it.
