Our first win as a league club happened on this day when we travelled to Bury for a first division fixture

Bury & Boro were more or less neck & beck in the league & after losing the home fixture 2-0 way back in December 1907

Boro had sweet revenge at Gigg Lane with a 4-1 win, our 4th away win of the season, a brace from Fred Wilcox, with a goal apiece from Sammy Cail & Steve Bloomer, for their 9th, 12th & 12th goals of the season

Boro's first ever player manager Andy Aitken, in his final full season guided the Boro to their highest league finish to date with a 6th place finish, only 2 points behind runners up Aston Villa
