Frank Spraggon played his final Boro game this day against Derby County at Ayresome Park for a 1st division fixture

Frank Spraggon had been a great servant to the Boro, between 1963-1976 he played 323 games, scoring 3 goals v Birmingham City, Norwich City & Cardiff City, all home games we won, this game was to be his 10th of the season & his final game for the mighty Boro unfortunately ending in a 2-0 defeat, our 3rd home defeat on the bounce

Feank was our 1st ever FAC sub when he replaced John O'Rourkke in the 2nd half of our 5-2 win at Chester (26/11/1966) & the last outfield player to score in our mother of all seasons 1973-74

Throughout his Boro career he wore No's 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12
