We were after Tom Cannon last summer.. he didn't get off to the best of starts at Leicester. I wonder if it would be worth us going back in for him now they've gone up?

If Josh Coburn can get his injuries under control I think he can do the business for us. Very strong and deceptivly quick!

I read somewhere that the injuries were growth related and the had to keep an eye on the playing load that was being put on him.

BoroRedKen

Dont know too much about Cannon and i want Josh to make it but the injuries are niggly 1's and they are holding him back a lot.

Im still smarting over lads like Sol Bryn never getting a chance. I rate that lad as a keeper.

Fry is another. Like the kid but has he "peaked"? Im slightly concerned Latte could become Akpom mark 2.

Whats the Pally Park fanny magnet up to these days?...

You and Erimus are the experts how much money do you think Gibson is going to spend on new signings for next season ?

Im no expert Lurpak on present players but im confident, could be naive, that Gibbo will give Carrick & his recruitment team enough money to bring the required players to enable us to call top 2

I based my opinion on proving to VDB, Ayling, Hackney, ELL & Carrick himself to stick with us & that we aim to be force next season

I think we'll do ourselves proud.. we're not at the big boys table and nor do we want to be really.

£4m ish looks to be the top end that we're paying for players now.

we've been linked with £10m ish strikers.. but nothing has really come to light.

Michael Baidoo is reported to be costing between £1.7m - £3.4m I'd expect us to be on the higher end of that if a deal comes off.. it does have all the hall marks of a name that comes out of nowhere and the fans get all excited.. then we 'miss out' on the £8m player.. never to hear about them again.

Early doors yet..

Matthew Hoppe <> Will Lankshear
Young striker out on loan, young striker in on loan?

Anfernee Dijksteel <> Luke Ayling
Doesn't seem to be getting a look in an Luke is very much flavour of the month!

Paddy McNair <> Michael Baidoo
We brought him in as a midfielder I think.. gone now anyway. McStare out Baidoo in! Never heard of him before.. i'm sure he's class £3m should do the trick.. our new number 10 and 1000th player.. maybe?

Hayden Coulson is another player that I would imagine will be on to pastures new. Impressed in the SPL  it long ago and deserves to be playing games week in and week out.

Arsenal's Amario Cozier-Duberry is out of contract this summer 18yo and plays on the right wing and should imo be looking for a club like Boro to push on his career with.

BoroRedKen

Is the young Duberry any relation to Michael? M was Chelsea was he not? 🤔

Bud Wiser

Sheff United's James McAtee would be my pick from the three relegated sides.

Not that I can see Man City loaning him to a non-Prem side for next season.

Yeah, newly promoted side maybe..

Francks left peg

He sounds like the type of player the recruitment team would look at

Yes, I think Michael is his dad.

Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Anderlecht, Wolves and Newcastle are showing interest for free transfer in June — in case talks with Arsenal collapse.. sounds like he's gearing up for the Van Den Berg swivel!

Germany seems a good move for these young uns.
Done Bellingham no harm did it?

I don't know whether it's the money or just home comforts.. but if I was a young player I'd be looking to try an play abroad. Italy used to be the place to be back in the eighties/nineties..

Thought Ravel Morrison might have done well at Lazio.. turns out he's got some sort of condition that it's really difficult to medicate/ get a prescription for if you're a professional athlete.

Always thought that Downing would have done well in the MLS.. plus it seems like he fancies a bit of the razzle dazzle with presenting and that. I'd defo take California over Blackburn like.. maybe even after Blackburn he could have tried his luck! Saw a few NY Red Bull games out there last year.. couldn't believe how slow the game was. I remember seeing Kaka play out there.. his legs were gone in his 20s and he was still there spraying Hollywood balls to a bunch of clodders!

Even the corners were slow.. EVERYTHING! Reacting to the ball, strolling around without a care in the world. No urgency what do ever. I think they have a marvel superhero theme when kaka was playing.. mad.

Some very knowledgeable fans tho.. canny atmosphere too.. big party in the car park beforehand.. pints in the stands. Just utter shyte football.

I find the support of Am Footy at college level in the USA bonkers!
The sheer number of attendances is astonishing. Always wondered why our college/Unis are nowhere remotley near that level of madness.

I really believe the adoption of "its not the winning its" mentality affects our sporting prowess.
As Marty Turner used to say to us if you moaned at getting clipped in the ring (boxing ya gutter minds!) "Fuck off and take up ballet!".👍

MLS will never be a legitimate league without the pyramid.. relegation, promotion etc. Their other sports are a bit of a closed shop and obviously work as franchises. Huge potential there.

I could defo see some American owners taking their franchises over there super league style!

. America is a big place and a lot of college towns are far from the big cities that have the professional sports team so they have a big catchment area and can draw a big crowd.  There is a lot of TV and media coverage too.  It only really happens like that for football though.  The high school level game is also well supported.

The standard (in the top teams) is also very good.  Those college teams form the youth system for the NFL ie where they mostly get drafted from.  So there is a direct link between the college game and professional level unlike in the UK.

Were you involved in the legacy numbers? Seems live a VERY Erimus thing to do! Who was the 1000th by your count?

I remember there was you and someone else that did it and the difference was.. erm.. did you count players coming back as a different registration?

No Newy I know both lads who have compiled the book, the difference between mine & there list is that when a player is sold then at some point later returns then I issue him with a new registration number, s lije to the other lads & TBH there is no right, or wrong way to do it
Eddie Holliday becoming the first Boro player sold & returned back in 1960, we sold him to Sheff Weds & after a few seasons he returned

Also the difference I think when entering debutants is the shirt No, so in reality a GK could be No23 & a FB No3, the full back would be registered first

On nights so will need to check tomorrow for my 1000th

I thought the legacy number compilers ranked them alphabetically if two or more players made a debut in the same game?

Fixed your quote spackerism minty!

I remember reading the headline board for the Gizzy as 'Boro sign England winger'

Hardly able to hold my excitement I rushed into the shop and bought a copy to find out it was only Eddy Holliday a player we'd fairly recently sold

Disappointment was something I learned early doors when following the Boro

Interestingly this was the first ever recorded example of 'click-bait'

Think so John Trebor, though our first ever fixture v Lincoln 1899 I have listed them with the GK as No1 up to No11, even though shirt numbers weren't issued till around 1928 I have given them numbers what their positions would have been if so
