As I've said, if we want him to stay & he's said he does, then Gibbo has to push the boat out this summer & give our recruitment team the go ahead to go big & bring in the next level of players that will see us challenge the top 2, if not, we'll not only lose Hackney this summer but Carrick the year after, followed by VDB & the exciting young academy players that will presently want to be part of an exciting period at the Boro

Not to mention drops in ST sales
I really believe next summer is msssive for the Boro

I don't think Hackney is off, especially for 18 million. That would send out a shit message to the fans, and basically tell you where the clubs stance is on ambition. VDB recently said in his dutch interview, that the club were planning a big push for the 24/25 season, so getting rid of Hackney goes against that grain. Surely we must have a few quid banked and don't need to sell any of our top assets.
