Tell Me a better British songwriter, bearing in mind we're talking about at the time, growing up with, situationism, feelings, that kind of stuff?

No disrespect to your age but the band's you'll have liked when you were young Bowie, Hoople, Slade etc he was a fan of. I'm not promoting the fella but he listened to 'liked' music.

One thing you don't do yeah is give working class people, especially those in a band is money. Cos they'll have great time, spunk the lot on drink, drug's the lot there's Many British bands that have done that, suppose that's Rock n Roll.

But he didn't do drug's, probably not even a drinker, but he had a massive impact on some people's lives, not mine, not at all. But I do understand and 'get that' that's all.
Whether you like them or not their music will stand the test of time.

That's what good music is about a song that was written yesterday, today, tomorrow. That's the only point I'm trying to make.

There's no 'magic' it just has a time, situation, a place in a person's Life.

That's what music does, that's the 'magic'

You could name endless 'good' bands I'm just using these as an example.

When they start out it's a struggle that's why the first album is always the best. Then they get money, drug's, the lot complacency set's in, turn to rat shit, that's what happens.
Of course you have to have belief in the band, which is where I think they were unique.

Incidentally I could have went to see The Smiths at our town hall didn't go, cos I thought he was a c**t, couldn't stand the bloke.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it  . . . Or is it?
