Our poor new year form continues following our shocking first half performance against Bristol City with after only 17 minutes we found ourselves 2-0 down & totally outplayed, it didn't get any better as the half wore on & for good goalkeeping would have seen us go in 4-0 down at HT. Bristol City's manager changed tactics second half & told his players to just hold what they had, we huffed & puffed, with Bristol getting a few lucky breaks with good defending & lucky defending, then a goal that was wrongly ruled out & in the end Silveras goal, sadly should have counted, but wasn't & so up next is Preston North End for a midweek away Championship fixture, fingers crossed the right Boro turn up, take the game to Preston & get our second away league win of the year

Preston last season were our opponents when Michael Carrick made his managerial debut, when he became the Boro's 39th league manager taking his place in the away dugout, unfortunately, after taking the lead we lost 2-1 to a late goal & have been conceding silly goal ever since
I would like to see Hackney reverted back to his midfield role, with McGree starting, Forss up top, lets  see

Goals against - 72

10th January 1987 - Paul Kerr, Boro's 1st cash transfer following liquidation, made his Boro home debut against Preston in the FAC 3rd round

11th November 1972, my dad took me & my younger brother to our 1st ever Boro away game when we travelled to Deepdale to watch the Boro win 1-0 with a John Hickton goal, it was Boro's 13th win away to Preston

I fear another loss.

Selling Crooks was a mistake - should have been end of the season. He is a big bloke with a big presence even when on the bench. The season will go south from now on.

The new signing Azaz has been largely shite so far and needs to up his game, if he can.

Francks left peg

Hate playing Preston, particularly at there place. 0-0

We will lose 2-0

Leicester will destroy us.

During this time, West Ham will sack Moyes and Carrick will decide now is the time. We will end up in 14th.

Season ticket sales will crash, we will look to sell Hackney to raise funds but ultimately not bring in what is needed. Rough times ahead i fear and im not going to slag Gibson off, he is clearly doing all he can to keep the club stable. Unfortunately, fans want promotion over everything so disappointment beckons

Could believe all that apart from Carrick going to West Ham, theyre quite a few names they would consider before even thinking about Carrick

His best option is to sign an extension here

I hope i am wrong and you may well be right re the West Ham job, but, i do wonder if Carrick is thinking about it. If we do no improve whilst he will have to take some of the blame it only dents his reputation which is still pretty high, especially outside the club.

I could see West Ham doing it as a way to appease the fans who lets be honest no bugger all and believe a young, exciting manager who was a class player means success.

erimus74

Dont get me wrong I want Carrick to stay here, I want him to keep learning here, I like him, his football, his attitude, but the bottom line is, we cant keep changing managers every other season

Blott

Four weeks ago everything was rosy and the doomsayers were in Thier potting sheds. Today they have their rifles out.

Always has been always will be.

At present at half time Norwich, who are beating Watford 2-1 at home, have sneaked in to playoff pack, seem to come from nowhere
