What could possibly could go wrong, 1st division Boro we had just beaten Man Utd 1-0 only 5 days earlier at Ayresome Park, against 4th division Grimsby Town in the 3rd round of the FAC

Bernie Slaven put the Boro 1-0 up but 2nd half goals from Grimsby Town turned the score 2-1 & put paid to our FAC that season

that was my first ever experience of "typical Boro"....i thought that team was unstoppable and incapable of losing, especially to a team from the 4th Division

i was in the East End near the Grimsby fans which made it worse, haha
