Today is my 1st day back for my last cycle at work, just 11 shifts to go till I call it a day, 6 day shifts, 5 night shifts

No more blocks of 10 off, only 2 more blocks of 4 off

When I finally drive out of those gates it will be one emotional journey

Erimus lad,

You've always come across as a geezer who appreciates the satisfaction of a good day's graft. I am intrigued into your emotional state as you approach retirement. Do you have a plan for the first few weeks/months? I am a reasonable chunk younger than you, but reaching that point in life where I'm trying to map out the rest of it. Trying to learn from the best of them and you are certainly firmly ensconced into that category.

Gingerpig

My day will be the day i dont enjoy what i do,  but its getting closer , but know lads who binned work ...& they are just waiting for boozer to open too, & wish they had carried on.....we moan about it at times , but the graft/craic , fills the days
