At work yesterday, just 3 months short of 38 years at my present job (a few names have changed mind over the years) I handed in my notice to retire, at 63 years of age its scary stuff, as well as exciting, have I done the right thing, only time will tell, but hopefully, 2024 is the start of a new chapter in my life

Happy new year everyone & all the very best for 2024, UTMB

Good luck Erimus.

I was chatting with lads over xmas still grafting at 65 with no intention of retiring for fear of boredom. I found it quite sad. I am 61 and intend to do do 2 more years.

i am one of the sad ones, I despise gardening, don't watch telly, like working, find people funny and will never hit a little white ball to then go and find it.

Love gardening, enjoy walking, never hit a golf ball in my life & one day, fingers crossed, I want to write a Boro book

Really enjoy work, have done since the day I started but the physicality of it, is at times, to much for me
I wanted to retire while im not fit enough to but while I still enjoy it, I would hate to have my last year or so not enjoying a job Ive loved doing nost of my life, if that makes sense
