In a 1-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace, ending the year & the 1st ever PL season with a defeat

Over 2 spells - 1st spell he played 127 games, scoring 14 goals, second spell, 138 games, with 6 goals

Mark Proctor, registered No522 made his debut, on the 22nd August 1978, wearing the No7 shirt away to Birmingham City in a 3-1 Boro win, scoring his 1st Boro 1st team goal in a 7-2 thrashing over Chelsea, his 1st season seen him score 9 goals in 33 games, he left when the Boro board realised the value of him & others in the 1st team resulting in John Neal resigning

Bruce Rioch brought Mark Proctor back to the Boro, making his 2nd Boro debut, along with Mark Barham making his debut, away to Wimbledon on the 25th March 1989, I was at that game at Plough Lane

Mark, registered No595, was given the No5 shirt by Bruce Rioch, the game ended 1-1

His 1st Boro goal in his 2nd spell was the opening day of the following season when the mighty Boro beat Wolves 4-2, scoring his final Boro goal away to Tranmere in a 2-1 win 10th April 1992

His final Boro appearence was away to Sheff Utd in a 2-0 defeat on the 9th Feb 1993

For me Mark was an excellent Boro player in both spells
