Take a bow fella.

The way he looked after both sets of players when the lad collasped was the stuff of real man management and compassion.

Any club would be proud to be associated with Rob Edwards.

Top bloke and top human.

👍👍👍

When it happened to Erickson also Muamba i never really thought that much about it.

Since Carmen had heart problems these stories proper affect me now.

I cannot emphasie ENOUGH lads do not take ANY chances with the old ticker.
Sometimes its not a stitch. Sometimes is not chest flu.

Just get a check if you feel these things. A couple of hours messing about getting an appt or a check up COULD just save your life.
If its your partner drag them there kicking and screaming if you have to.

THIS IS KENNY.

NEVER HAVE TO FEEL LIKE KENNY.

GET A CHECK UP.

I had a heart attack back in 2020 . Just sat at home having a sandwich.I got a cramp like feeling in my left arm and felt nauseous .Normally I would of just thought, give it time "it will sort itself out"     but this time I had a strange feeling that something was not right.

Not sure if that feeling saved my life but it certainly meant there  was no damage caused to my heart.

I got the wife to take me to A&E and within 24 hrs I was admitted and  discharged having had a stent fitted.

The surgeon explained the pain I felt was the blood supply being cut off to part of my heart , because it was sorted so quickly there was no damage to my heart.

All tests I had afterwards were positive and apart from taking a few tablets life just goes on as normal.

I now watch what I eat and drink but nothing is taboo I just stick to "a little of what you fancy "

Important point of this is , if it doesn't feel right get it checked !!! and god bless the NHS 👍

If only you knew how happy and joyous i find your story there Toppy.

Thank the Lord you knew something was not right.

Tbh Carmen had a new valve fitted. That part of her op was a success. It was the infection she picked up in JCUH that ultimately killed her. (Still waiting for the coroner to conclude her case. After all its only been 6 months!).

But well done Toppy for acting so quick.

RR would be a sadder place without you.

And we have lost too many good blokes in 3 years from here.

I think about our passed brothers everyday.

And it breaks my heart.

 :bigjack

BoroRedKen

And yes i also think of the lads OTR have lost.

BoroRedKen

I have learnt a very harsh lesson.

No matter what we may all think of each other here and OTR death affects and hurts us all the same.

It dont really matter if your a Tory or a Labour.

It dont really matter if you support Boro or the Mags.

Death of a loved 1 affects us all the same.

Losing a partner makes us say and do daft things sometimes.

But the pain is the same no matter what or who you are.

I would also like to say i have no issues really with the Teesside Coroner.

That lady has been great with me. Never judges me. Always treats me with compassion.

I fully understand the backlog is torture for her.

Thats why i dont give her a hard time to expedite Carmens case.

To me she is a credit to her job.

But a nice one 👍

BoroRedKen

Its how im trying to curb my angry feelings.

Im not unique. Im not the only bloke that has lost a wife.

Its a very sad statistic that there are 1000s of people suffering in the same way as i am.

Its maybe becoming the time i tried to be part of the solution and not part of the "problem".

I said yesterday im a lucky guy. I know i have friends and confidants.

Maybe its time, in Carmens memory, i start to pay the help i get from you lads on here forward.

Maybe its time to get out there and try to help others by offering compassion and an ear for people not as lucky as me to have friends.

BoroRedKen

The only thing stopping me is this investigation in to me "inciting racial hatred" still being "active".

Over fucking 80 weeks now.

BoroRedKen

And here is the anger.

Make sure you enjoy every fucking morsel of your Christmas dinner with your wife Alexander.

You cowardly shithouse.

Sorry lads. Some things i cannot just let go of.

Smoggers51

Agree with you Topgun and Nekder get yourselves checked out lads if you don't feel ok.Over 25 years ago I had my first heart attack but just put it down to indigestion and carried on working .I was 90 feet up a column when I collapsed with a heart attack.Rescue squad worked in cramped conditions and managed to get me down to ground level.Paramedics worked on me for over an hour on the ground to stabilise me and rushed me to hospital.I had 2 stents fitted and they discovered damage to the heart but nothing serious.Recovered and went back to work.
4 years later whilst repairing my garden fence I felt my chest tighten but this time the wife called 999 immediately and long story short had to have another stent fitted. That was over 15 years ago and I've not had another attack since.
Moral is lads if it doesn't feel right it's probably not. UTMB!!!

BoroRedKen

Smoggs. Its ok to call me Ken. I would even let you use "Kenneth". Just you though.

I remember dad having 1 whilst he was sat in a chair. Horrifying thinking back.

Through Carmen i saw the leaps and bounds heart "management" has taken over the last few years.

Even something as serious as having a stent fitted is almost a routine op now thanks to the understanding and advancements in medical procedures.

Carmen had a valve fitted and wanted to come home 2 days later!

Fwiw Bro im happy you are still with us.

GET CHECKED IF ANY DOUBT BOYS!

BoroRedKen

BTW Smoggs. A couple up here constantly say to me "Hello (your 1st name here) how are you?"

I just have not got the heart to tell them im Kenneth now its been so long!

And for the life of me i cant remember their name. She is a proper old school Gtowner. I did recognise her hubby.

Which 1 of us should be more offended by the mistaken identity?

 :alf:  :alf:  :bigjack

BoroRedKen

I will ask their name when i see them next and PM it to you.

Having thought about im taking the offence if you dont mind!.

Its not from me but words like "style" "panache" and "charm" are just said about me.

Words like "level headed" "cool under pressure" "always chilled".

Hey others words not mine.

And if anyone believes that, come over here and have a look at this bridge going cheap.......
